Man, I love this and I am responsible for about 100 of your views, but I have to be honest, I just can't work out your chord progression. The video lags ever so slightly behind the audio. It looks like it's starting out something along the lines of G-C-G-C-G-D but there's some more action in there that I just can't pick up. Would you mind posting the chords? @Garath120 In concept, yeah...You'll be able to pick it up within five minutes if you already know how to play guitar. There are vast differences in the chords and the tuning is like a bass, but upside down (EADG --->GDAE)...oh and the tiny frets...those take the most getting used to...

I got a cheap mandolin from a friend and I would like to re-string it in order to get a better sound. Could you recommend me a good type string set? I mainly play chords rather than soloing. In my other instruments I usually play with GHS strings. Thanks in advance.

In all honesty, I'm not sure. But off of my experience with string instruments in general...You'll want to aim for middle gage for that instrument.

I haven't changed the strings on the one I have here because it is borrowed...so I can't say for sure if I'm right...

I would go get involved get an account with a Mandolin site on the internets and ask on a forum...Or do yahoo answers...

Something tells me it will come down to preference in the end, though...

It's a tanglewood A-style. It's pretty cheap and I don't have it anymore, but it works fine.
