  • Esau is the fucking devil!

  • Soylent Green is people!

  • she is sucha hottie, sooo sexy

  • hurray for geek girls. :D

  • test

  • The Muslim world just shat a giant brick.

I believe they call it the "Ka'aba".

    Lawl!

  • She is so super pretty!

    Christien! I love you!

  • @inachu Hey, I loved her first!

  • Our legacy of cruelty & exploitation to animals is very sad.

  • @sab611 Life feeds on life; death is necessary. It is only sad because you believe in some utopia where nothing is killed and used. I think it is beautiful.

If it is so terrible, either find a way to fulfill these 184 needs without "exploiting" any living thing, or stop using them. I suspect that you don't use bullets, so just the remaining 183.

  • @032125 I have no trouble finding or making most of the products listed in the book without animal products, so the death of a pig is in fact not necessary in these cases. Who says Sab611 doesn't look for cruelty-free products, too?

  • @Nephtys80 Well great. Market those ideas and get rich. If they're better than pig I'll buy them. You'll still be feeding on life.

  • @032125 everything has alternatives. Exploitation and torture is not necessary. Death, ofc, always is the result of anything living. No1 is denying that

  • @Codylupardus Not everything has an alternative. Not every conceivable alternative is actually feasible, not every conceivable alternative is feasible or desirable for every person.

All use is exploitation; the only alternative is the abyss. If you get some emotional satisfaction out of abstaining from the use of animals, be my guest. My disdain is spared for those whom I suspect would force the same abstinence on the rest of us via the state. Unfortunately it colors the discussion greatly.

  • 2 Legs Good, 4 Legs Bad.

  • lol hemoglobin would just suck all the oxigen out of every inhalation, so not healtier at all...

  • Wow. Love the accent, love the talk. Two thumbs up for SuperPig 05049!

  • What about the bullet? How is the pig used in bullets? She didn't say. Does anybody know?

  • It's is truly amazing we don't know what things are made of let alone how they are made. If we are going to take an animal's life it seems appropriate to use everything rather than let it go to waste. However in the factory farming context and in light of our complete ignorance this practice does not seem to uphold any sense of dignity or sanctity of life.

  • You know China started using pig parts in replace for shark's fin in their famous shark's fin soup... I read it in the article a couple of years back... Their motive was actually trying to stop us from killing more of those endangered sharks, which is really a good idea, and now I realize that pig can actually save the world other than eating their own faeces...

  • LMHO!!

The West is full of pigz!!!

Thanks God i live in a country that doesn't allow any pig components to enter its markets

  • which company is it that uses pig blood in filters?

  • pigs are also quite delicious :)

  • i only like pigs for its bacon and its name to call bad police officers.

  • My girlfriend often calls me a pig. I used to think it was an insult. Now I see it's actually a badge of honour. Lol.

  • This is a insult to the Muslim community we need to ban and fine any company that uses pig parts ! This is Haram and i am calling my local imam to send a fatwa to all my local government !

  • Thank you, pigs!

  • Christien is from the Netherlands, which is 'famous' for its pigs. They are everywhere, but crammed so much that hardly anyone knows of notices. So to be certain, the numbers are these - inhabitants of NL: about 17 million people. Amount of pigs present in NL: about 12 million. Amount of pigs slaughtered daily, on average, including weekends etc.: 40,000. Amount of live pigs exported from NL daily: about 30,000. Some people call this 'efficient', others call it 'immoral'.

  • oh man, this is going to make MINECRAFT really complicated.

  • Sorry, I'm in a bit of a comment fit...... at the moment.

Pigs can induce these states of comment overage as well.

    Oink Oink Oink !!!!!

Porcine ponderings of the 3a.m. variety

  • I'm sending this to all the muslims I know... They're gonna loose their lunch when they see it. :D

  • What's ironic is that the first to mention something unrelated like religion in these videos are the non-religious. Seems to be a lot of self esteem issues.

  • @KzrrainzYes 1) They are doing their duty to embarrass the fundies. 2) It's always amusing to point out silly beliefs. 3) Since you brought up self esteem issues first, I guess that must be you covering for your own insecurity.

  • @bioman123 No self reflection needed. I can see you just fine.

  • Bad news for vegans who were, until now, pig-ignorant.

(Boy, how often is that pun justified?)

  • As Homer Simpson said: "Some wonderful, magical animal!"

  • Nothing is Halal.

  • Comment removed

  • Take it a bit further I can argue that since all atoms on Earth exists billion of years ago and it is only recycled; Than I am essentially made of atoms that could have been once part of a dinosaur, some kind of micro organism or even a oxygen atom that was once breathed through Ganghis Kahn.

  • As Homer Simpson said, a "magical animal".

  • Short cute talk.

  • Short litle cute talk.

  • Now the muslims will have to stop bathing ,brushing their teeth, painting their houses and no more heart surgery for those in the modern world ? Fruit Juice LOL

  • @ShalloeThought wait, they allready don't do all those things.... sorry that was racist >.< (I actually have no problems with them, i just had to say it :p)

  • Awesome! We should really consider recycling human corpses as well however.

  • @Shadowstray just imagine the ethics approval lol

  • @Shadowstray Over a human lifetime (60 years) one human corpse is produced. A farm-pig lives for about 15 years.

  • @Shadowstray we can't. humans seem to gain pleasure from putting dead people in boxes, and then in big holes. and then fencing it all off. yay efficiency!!!

  • @lordrazi111693 Actually, that's mostly in the western world.

  • @DrQuijano brilliant! I love your slander.

  • @hermyhalloween I love people who love slander. Splendid !

  • Wow. This is a really interesting talk.

    Great job :D

  • This is so awesome! I love pigs. I gotta feel a bit sorry for Muslims, Jews, and vegans though.

  • o.o i'm really really surprised!

i've been a vegetarian since february but well.. now i think that it's not really possible to be one at all..

  • Christ, you don't have much will power do you?

Just use shower gel instead of soap.

Also, watch out for gelatine and don't use guns or that specific brand of Greek cigarrete.

    Pretty simple really.

  • @soyousay18 shower gel probably has gelatin in it from pigs ;)

  • @soyousay18 I'm already just using shower gels which are made without any meat and I watch our for gelantine. But it's often not even mentioned when there's gelantine in a product like I've never recognized before that there is some in low fat butter. And well, I don't use guns or smoke at all so..

But there are other things that she mentioned like the bread or some decoration. You can't go crazy everytime you buy something like this and find out if there's pig in it, that's what I mean.

  • @k8tr14 Well, more or less, but it would depend on your reasons for vegetarianism. Avoiding eating pig meat for dietary reasons isn't very difficult. If your reasons are more of a moral nature then i would agree, looks like it can be difficult to live a modern life without being a hypocrite. But everyone's a hypocrite and you can still make an impact by reducing your consumption.

  • is it halal?

  • So much for the vegan lifestyle.

  • I am proud to say that this is not the first time I've fapped over a TED talk.

  • @plebmonk I lol'd hard

  • @plebmonk hahaha xD sick

  • @plebmonk Preach !

  • Super cool... I was not aware somehow I do use (some form of PIG). Idea worth spreading .... Must watch

  • Hoi Christien

Wat een genoegen om naar jou te luisteren. Interessant en leerzaam.

    Bert Methorst.

    Blauwhuis Frl

  • i could make her oink

  • Wow my muslim friends would be freaking out if they knew all this

  • @Rikashk

Ignorance is bliss for the faithful.

  • @Rikashk tell them..... tell them now

  • @Rikashk

Once your heart valve is made of pigs, I think that pretty much invalidates all your ablutions from the moment you have your surgery up until the time you die.

  • @Rikashk my muslim friends found this to be really cool!

  • @Rikashk tell me about it. i'm Jewish.

  • @Rikashk at least you know why they dont use soap now.

  • @Rikashk

How do we break it to them?

  • @Rikashk jewish ones too

  • It's great when you consider all the energy and produce it costs to raise a pig, it comes back in so many products. And if you are a vegetarian for mostly environmental reasons (like I), to see that all of the pig is used (the last bits as energy), makes the industry a little less bad. And.. go Dutchie! I realise she has a bit of an accent, but its a good to hear such English that is so easy to understand. You should hear my professors at Utrecht uni teaching Environmental Politics & Management

  • I guess, this is a Nightmare video for PETA !!!

  • @vijishellboy I was just thinking that while I was watching this video. I bet EVERY PETA member uses at least one or more of those products.

  • She's gorgeous. :)

I bet this sucks for vegetarians and muslims. I'm actually partially vegetarian myself.

  • The dough improver is L-Cystine, although the main source today is from a mutant of E. Coli.

I call bull on the sandpaper. I think it's mostly PVA. Hyde glues are to temperature sensitive.

Other beer clarifying agents are more popular. Gelatin in the beer can introduce lipids and ruin a batch.

The cigarette was a good laugh.

Lots of lard in this. Jamie Hyneman's favorite lube.

  • I intend on getting a potbellied dwarf pig and calling him Smith Worthington. He shall be a king!

  • @Neanderthalcouzin Right on ! Live your dream, Knight Weirdo.

You've inspired me to clean my pipe. Many thankful thoughts for

    this most enlightening comment. :)

(let me know about the "king" thing)

    ~be well

  • take that muslims!! cant even use soap now!! muahahah

  • @jackster1990 That explains why the didn't use much soap before.

  • Feel good talk of the day for Muslims.

  • Take THAT, Islam!

  • The same thing goes on in the US and Canada. Only 50% of a DEAD COW is eaten by humans. What do you think happens to the rest of the cow? None of it is thrown away. It is all high quality organic matter with hundreds of uses. It may be that American burger eaters are subsidizing hundreds of American industries.

  • oh man... poor jews and muslims. Meh, serves them right for giving themselves an illogical restriction.

  • sucks if your a vegan eh?

  • Essentially, the pig is everywhere. If the pig is everywhere, and god is everywhere, then the pig is god.

  • @DrQuijano

If I can think, and god can think, then I am god.

  • @CrashGames2108 LOL. Although actually, I don't recall any place where the bible says god "thinks". It says he "knows" everything, so he's like a wikipediapig, but I'm not so sure that he can think. That's what sets us "lowly mortals" from god. We think.

  • @DrQuijano there is nothing that sets us apart from something that does not exist, except for our existence.

  • @DrQuijano

All hail the great pig! The creator of the universe!

  • @DrQuijano God is everywhere Pig is everywhere God is Pig

  • @DrQuijano hahahaha..this makes me laugh carzy....

  • @DrQuijano

What kind of logic is that? Blood is red, so are roses. Therefore blood is a rose?

  • @DrQuijano

If the pig is God, then Allah is not God because Allah hates pigs. If Allah hates pigs then Allah cannot be a pig because pigs do not hate pigs. In fact, pigs are generally not too big on the whole self-loathing Idea. Therefore, Allah is an imaginary God and the pig is the one true God.

  • @Mrmoc7 who the fuck r u to say such things about over Allah if u think that pig is our god so y do u kill them

  • She's Dutch, disgusting & #FAIL!

  • Sorry to say, these are nowhere near as interesting as they used to be :-(

  • She is beautiful, every pig would like to Date her...!

  • Can pigs fly?

  • PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG PIG

  • She is hot. I enjoyed her talk too.

  • So very informative... I had no idea

  • Pigs. Pigs everywhere.

  • Thanks for the informative talk!

  • a lovely looking women fascinated by pigs

  • a lovely looking women fascinated by pigs.

  • I just spent 8 minutes about how pigs contribute to modern day society products... well thats certainly some useless information.

  • The dutch government sending emails? lol

  • So nobody will say that this woman is smart, cute and sexy?

  • @vraciudude I will. Besides, I love the way she speaks

  • @vraciudude I also love the way she speaks

  • @vraciudude Because she's not. She's tall, skinny, pale,no tits and no ass.As part from being smart, well the research she did can maybe amuse kindergarten pisspants.

  • @vraciudude The first and only thing I kept thinking throughout this tedtalk was that I would bang her

  • @vraciudude thats Dutch women for ya.

  • @vraciudude it's pretty obvious :)

  • @vraciudude yep ;) she dutch

  • @vraciudude she is talking about pigs.

  • @vraciudude I will! And she also has a beautiful accent! :P

  • @vraciudude why does that have to be a fact at all?

  • @vraciudude

Why waste your time stating the obvious? ^^

  • She's gorgeous.

  • This is actually a talk about capitalism - disguised as a talk about pig parts. What she's describing is the process of how millions of people can create vastly different products, using countless different parts - to provide us with low cost, effective products. It's a beautiful thing.

  • @daveyg07 This has nothing at all to do with capitalism. We were using animals to make products for our own benefit long before capitalism.

  • @thisisnotanick Very true, I wasn't denying this fact. However, before Capitalism we only made products for ourselves, our immediate family, or small community. Now, we make products for people all around the world regardless of their connection to us. So yes, our ancestors used pigs, and all sorts of animals to make basic tools and products, but we now use these same materials in ways our ancestors could have never dreamed of. And I find that to be very beautiful.

  • @daveyg07 Well, that still does not make this a talk about capitalism disguised as something else. If anything it is a talk about how domestication of certain animals made our society possible.

Specialization, and by extension, trade, came into existence long before capitalism. Capitalism is a way to buy cheap natural resources from poor nations, and then selling them the refined products back at a higher price. If it's beautiful or not depends on where in the chain you are.

  • @thisisnotanick I wasn't trying to input intention on the speaker, merely trying to convey a point. It actually seems as if she's much more concerned about consumer knowledge than animals themselves.

That's also a very morally laced definition of Capitalism you've described. I take it you imagine that "Poor nations" become "poorer" through trade? If that's true why would they trade in the first place? If, by definition, you only trade if you gain something in value.

  • @daveyg07 "This is actually a talk about capitalism - disguised as a talk about pig parts." I will not claim to know your intentions, but your statement would seem to imply this.

Poorer nations do indeed become poorer. Some of the poorest nations on earth are some of the richest in natural resources. There are so many examples of this that they are virtually impossible to ignore. Much of the world is not democratic, but rather controlled by an elite who does in fact make money out of this.

  • @thisisnotanick that is not "true" Capitalism. You may laugh at this point, but I and other like minded find that the confusion between our current "Capitalism" and the ideal of free market society is a hated one. The elite (The State) is what makes the poor poorer, the rich richer, and the world a worse place. They corrupt all systems. But that does not reject the hypothesis of liberty and Capitalism as the best way to produce wealth in the world - it points out the flaws in todays system

  • @daveyg07 Most developed nations has a mixed economy. There are no "true forms" of capitalism in the world. The US who has a highly capitalized mixed economy also has a huge national debt. Capitalism is based on exponential economic growth, which is unsustainable.

And I doubt I will laugh at anything you have to say (unless your intentions were to be funny), you are obviously a highly intelligent person.

  • @thisisnotanick Please, if you don't know what you're talking about, stay silent. The US economy is made up out of 40% government spending; capitalism has nothing to do with that. The US used to be capitalist and stopped being so about a 100 years ago. Now it's a collectivized economy just like the EU and just about everything else; the result being the current downfall of Western civilization in the making.

  • @NietzscheanMan wrong

  • @NwZ2 Lol :) I don't have anything to gain by butting heads with socialist zealots, so have it your way friend and good luck with it :)

  • @NietzscheanMan Riiight.. The US economy is not "collectivized". Russia under Stalin was "collectivized". I think you should stop making predictions.

  • @thisisnotanick Fed/stimulus plans/quantitative easing/anti-trust laws/military industrial complex/social security/libraries of regulation/"redistribution" of wealth/affirmative action/etc. The US/EU are socialist centrally planned economies (see fed/ecb and social security). That's the last thing I'm saying about this here, don't have the time to check back all the time :) If you want to continue the discussion feel free to go to my website link (don't expect you to, but the option is there :).

  • @NietzscheanMan If you didnt want to discuss this on Youtube, you shouldnt have made the comment at all. Making a comment criticizing others and then saying you dont have time to come back all the time just makes you seem like an arrogant fool. And the US economy is still not "collectivized".

  • @thisisnotanick Anyone who calls themselv nietzscheanman is pretty easy to "read". Self-important assholes who's main gripe is the rest of the world is too stupid to listen to their brilliance.

  • @majinspy Indeed. Considering the fact that I come from one of the most socialist places on earth, and he has a big "No socialist" sign as his profile image didnt really help either :)

  • @daveyg07 That's if the playingfield is level and the government actually have the peoples best interest, but with a few bribes here and there and a regime change to put the "right" people in power, you can swing yourself a sweet deal on the natural resources, a steal really.

  • Damn She's HOt
