We used single point slings in both Iraq and Afghanistan but it was mainly a way to keep your rifle next to you at all times. If the military were to go to this type of sling they will actually have to train grunts how to use them. These are not just weapons retention but much much more and that is lost upon the average grunt. Hell, I only used a single point in country and after I got back I had to learn to use slings like this.
good sling, it beats my 3 point sling I have. The 3 point sling just looks cool, but very little use practically wise compared to vtac sling or a magpul sling.
Single point slings allow the weapon to flop around when you let it hang. There is no control.
The cinch down capability of the VTAC sling gives you the ability to tighten the sling: - securing the weapon against your body, no flopping around - assisting in more stable shooting positions
I think it's better than a one point because: When you need more stability for increased accuracy you can tighten the VTAC Sling as you are getting into position or after you are in your shooting position and this will bring the weapon tighter into the body for increased stability. The VTAC sling also allows you to have more control of the weapon when transitioning to your secondary weapon, climbing over objects like a wall and a fence or up a ladder.
It also gives you more control of your rifle because you can cinch it tight against your body if you have to go hands on with someone to restrain them.
Another reason I enjoy the VTAC Sling as my departments chief firearms instructor I spend a lot of time on the range and this sling allows me to keep my rifle on me when Im on the firing line because it maintains control of the rifle tightly against my body with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
Its good to see a company put thought into thier products to enhance functionality instead of trying to make a fast buck. I love my VTAC sling and wont use any other.

I've used a VTAC on my AR since I've had . I ran it on my new AK with both a wire folder and solid stock. I was sold on the VTAC all over again.

single points are good for weakside transitions, but that's it.
sing points are not good for pistol transitions, doesnt act as a shooting aid and wont allow you to cinch the weapon down

To any one who has the VTAC sling,
Would you consider this better than a 1-point sling and why? I know from experience 3-points suck.

Yes. I had a single point and weapon retention is damn near nonexistant. Buy this with confidence brother!
