When I was a kid I wanted to see this really bad. But my mom wouldn't let me. I just flipped through it and now I know why. Those things that look like Critters with Krang from TMNT behind them woulda scared the shit outta me.
Thanks for putting up Invasion! I still love Tobe Hooper's magnificent sense of retro humor and gore. Laraine Newman is a friend of mine and I am sorry I never saw this work. Doggone it! IT'S AN AMERICAN CLASSIC! Thanks again!
i dont understand why the aliens were having a hard time capturing the kid? is he special? they took his father right away so why didn't they take the mother & the kid also, it would be great if they took the kid, he's a lousy actor
I can understand the ending though, it's the kind of nightmare every kid would have.
The world's against you, nobody can see the truth except you, giant jawed aliens, hooray the military's here to save the day and shoot up the bad guys. That kind of thing. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for uploading this.I have it on VHS but have no VHS recorder and i have not found it on DVD here in Sweden.I remember i watched it at the cinema in Norway but then the part where Renaldi got the needlething in his neck was deleted.....Directly after we saw David and the nurse were dragged down in the sand and the soldiers bombed hole there and went inside ,David was placed in front of the alien leader..The part where Renaldi gets the needle is disgusting.
This film should make every blue blooded American proud to have the strongest military in the world. Tell those space freaks from Mars to bring it on.
The school teacher is played by Louise Fletcher, Academy Award winner for Best Actress as Nurse Ratched in the film, "One Flew Over the Cookoos Nest."
I did, but never around my parents....please spare me your christian scare tactics. The reason why our country is going to shit is because the government wonts to control everything and you got the religious right dictating and staging moral standerds!
@pbrskater26 -Place your right hand over your heart and repeat after me: "I trust the Government. The government is my friend. The government never lies." "I trust the Government. The government is my friend. The government never lies." "I trust the Government. The government is my friend. The government never lies." "I trust the Government. The government is my friend. The government never lies." "I trust the Government. The government is my friend. The government never lies."
yeah thanks for uploading this, i couldn't remember the name for the life of me. i did know it had mars or martian in the title, this was one of my favorite horror/sci-fi movies when i was kid and i've been dying to watch it again, deff. an awesome remake and a movie actually worth remaking, not like those gay footloose/hairspray/and the other million movies they remade since 2001, hollywood has no imagination or talent anymore it really sux to be a movie fan these days...2 middle fingers up :)
@TheTomgunn and all those remakes they've made in the last 10-12 years sucked hairy donkey kong nut-sac and are not even good enough to wipe my ass with, let alone actually watch!!!! Fuck it i'm about to move to hollywood and become a writer, the shit i took this morning has more plot then any of that crap, i'll make millions just by making it up as i go along
Is it not hypocritical to whine about remakes, when this IS a poor remake of the original that Tobe Hooper did NOTHING to improve on apart from casting a bunch of B-actors. Also shut up, you're are not a movie fan when you claim there's no imagination or talent in hollywood anymore when you clearly haven't seen some of the new films out there.
Besides me, I can't believe anyone else thought well of "Sunshine". Anyway, that is an excellent list, but whether people will remember these films in a decade- I don't know. That is not an indictment of the movies, but of our culture and its inhabitants. Only time will tell...
@g1a1r1y3 yeah but my point is will they be remembered as some of the best, hell ppl don't even remember most of them already, if anything i would have put lord of the rings trilogy, i mean 'hugo" and "wall-e" really, gran torino and no country were the only really good movies on the list, but i doubt there gonna be "household" name movie like jaws or the godfather...but you right about time telling
@DrSalmonMating oh god really? i'm not gonna even bother if thats what u think are unforgetable movies, i mean really? district-9 and wall-e? and zodiac which one not that it matters they both were horrible...i feel bad for you if thats what u call unforgetable movies, your really missing out
I'm sorry, lets see YOUR list of unforgettable movies. Also fuck off, Zodiac was fantastic as was District 9. That's not what I think of unforgettable movies, but films that I think of as fantastic. A film doesn't need to be widely known to be good. And I'm not stooping to the cliche of using Dark Knight and Inception as unforgettable movies.
@DrSalmon which zodiac? theres 2, i liked d-9 to but its deff. not one of the greats and my point was will they be remember'd, so i really don't have a list of the 10 best of the last decade, but if u want i tell you what i think the ten best/unforgetable of all time]
There was a movie made in the 80s or early 90s about people disappearing in a small town which turn out aliens were turning them into glowing floating balls. Does anyone remember the name of the movie, thanks.
This movie scared the crap out of my when I was a kid!! I've wanted to watch it again for awhile now, just to see if I still considered it scary, but its taken over 5 years for me to find it, because I couldn't remember the name! And now that I have finally got to watch it again, I have to say no...this movie is not as scary as it was 20 years ago.
I'll never forget watching this with my Mom and then her asking me to brush her hair. She left the room for a moment to get the brush. Once she returned I started brushing her hair and she had placed a band-aid on the back of her neck. It was hilarious now in retrospect but scared the hell out of me as a kid. hahahaha

Specially those big jawed walker martians...*shudder*
But now, not so scary, but still nice with the special effects.
