Why Ben wallace is the best defender of all-time:

4 times nba defensive player of the year with mulitple defensive and rebounding records to this date...

And mostly because Robinson, Ewing, Mutombo, Olajuwon, Duncan, Howard and all the other 7 footers wasn't even close of making Shaq look weak like Ben a guy 6'9 and that weighs 100 pounds less that Shaq!! LEGEND and a HALL OF FAME no doubt!!

The reason that he lost his touch after the 99-02 era was because his footwork, post move set and shooting abilities were all weak, especially on comparison to the likes of Olajuwon and Jabbar.

But he did and that's why old Shaq barely contributed to any team after his years with Miami. Bill Russell, Kareem and Hakeem were all strong offensive and defensive threats late in their careers because they didn't just depend on their athleticism and ferocity, what I'm trying to say is that Wallace was better at that time.
