@jjproductions111. Let me put this in grade skool words for you. Nba players get payed to play basketball so when i say he is working a dead end job...the pistons are a horrible team thats not winning championships anytime soon? Get it?? Or should I simplify it more??
Where is the play where Wallace blocked on one end and then did a put back one handed dunk in one sequence with the gong going off at the end. By far his best play ever. Sent chills down my damn spine yo.
Ben Wallace made it into the nba on 100% hustle. For the nba, he averaged around 10 pts a game, so he want a scorer, and he was only average height. He gave every minute of every game all he had.
haha fuck ben wallace he scores about .25 points per game never made a free throw and hes got a bad attitude watta loser and he caused the pacers pistons brawl no matter wut anyone says
4 times nba defensive player of the year with mulitple defensive and rebounding records to this date...
And mostly because Robinson, Ewing, Mutombo, Olajuwon, Duncan, Howard and all the other 7 footers wasn't even close of making Shaq look weak like Ben a guy 6'9 and that weighs 100 pounds less that Shaq!! LEGEND and a HALL OF FAME no doubt!!
@Deenijel What about Dennis Rodman????? Check it out! As for the fact that made shaq look weak, yes, he did that, but Shaq was already 32-33 years old and in bad shape...
Don't get me wrong I'm a great fan of Big Ben, but, just look Rodman's stats...
@Deenijel A prime Shaq (1999-2002) would have destroyed Wallace. The reason he made Shaq look old was because Wallace was facing a Shaq that was getting up there in age.
@tellthetruth900 ben wallace did destroy shaq in his prime....the pistons owned the lakers in the finals and made shaq start blamin kobe for everything
@GodModeGaming You also have to remember that Shaq was always the centerpiece of his teams, including being the primary option for the three-peat Lakers in the early 2000s. Throughout their respective careers, Shaq played far, far more minutes per game than Wallace, on average. Combine that with the extra playoff mileage Shaq put on his legs after all those playoff runs, and Wallace was a much, much younger player in basketball terms by the time the '04 Finals came around. No comparison.
@tellthetruth900 Kareem was still a major threat when he was in his late 30's and when he was 40, he started and won an NBA Title at the age of 39, so to say that Shaq was that far out of his prime just because he had played that many minutes over that many years is an excuse, nothing more. The reason that he lost his touch after the 99-02 era was because his footwork, post move set and shooting abilities were all weak, especially on comparison to the likes of Olajuwon and Jabbar.
@GodModeGaming The point is that had Shaq been in his prime when Detroit played the Lakers in the Finals, he probably would have destroyed Wallace, since that's what a prime Shaq did to every post defender. So yes, not being in his prime is an excuse for Shaq not playing as well against Wallace, but it's a valid excuse.
My point is that had Shaq developed intangible moves/footwork he wouldn't have to depend on his sheer ape-like ferocity in the paint to have been a better player. But he did and that's why old Shaq barely contributed to any team after his years with Miami. Bill Russell, Kareem and Hakeem were all strong offensive and defensive threats late in their careers because they didn't just depend on their athleticism and ferocity, what I'm trying to say is that Wallace was better at that time.
Are you kidding me? Olajuwon has the MOST blocks in NBA history. Get outta here. Btw, did I mention how he won the DOP in the era where it was filled with great Centers?
He's basically a lion. RIdiculous. I think he's one of the best blockers in history if not the best. I loved watching him and still do. I still remember the Duncan block last year.
I must say, watching these highlights, you'd easily thnik he was a very good offensive player. Some of the dunks and put backs he pulls off are amazing. If he was a good offensive player, he could have easily been the most dominat player in the NBA a few years back.
that might be an over-statement. i'd definitely say he's one of the greatest centers of all time. what he lacked in scoring, he made up for in rebounding and defending.
Thnk ya!
