  • I love the animation for this scene...very kind of Tim Burton-y. :D

Which fits very very well considering the story.

  • @danielhriise death couldn't fibd him throughout life because he never did anything that causes him to die, unlike the other 2 brothers (you can't take the telling of legends too literally)

  • wait how did the youngest brother get children if he took of the invisibility cloak death would find him so how is my question

  • like if you found the Doctor Who reference

  • Twilight's the best.

  • They did such a good job.

  • This was my favorite part in all the movies. A brilliant animation of a brilliantly written parable.

  • Loved the graphic art. =)

  • what exactly does it mean at the end when she says "departing this life as equals" :?

  • @cylex96

Because he was really able (With his intellect) to cheat death. (Because the 2 other brothers only delayed their death.) Therefore magic (what they used to cross the river) is just a trick. You cannot cheat death (as the act of dying), but the younger brother cheated (he was as smart, wise, ect. as death {the spirit}) death.

You can sum all to; the younger brother survived beyond his own mortal form, due to his intellect, he became inmortall. To the point we are talking of him.

  • Wow. Does NO ONE pay attention to the books and just the movies? Three simple facts: The eldest Peverell brother died, the wand changed hands, and was lost to obscurity until Gallert Grindewald gained it. Dumbledore's defeat of Grindewald transfered the Elder Wand's ownership to him.

The Stone was essentially lost; how it came to be in the Gaunt Family Ring is essentially unknown.

The Invsibility Cloak was passed down from Ignotious Preverell's line which eventually married into the Potters

  • @XadoheSaruvi then went down the line to Charlus and Dorea, to James and Lily, to finally Harry. The story itself happened a long time ago almost within the age of the Founders. NOT three generations ago.

Also Grindewald got the wand by stealing it from Gregorovitch, a Bulgarian wandmarker who had. There is the possible chance that the Guant family, and thus Voldemort, are related to the second brother and thus the inset of the stone into the Gaunt Family Ring.

  • @Scimitar468 1. the story is hundreds of years old and the brothers aren't the people from the main story. 2. THE RESURRECTION STONE ISNT THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE!!!!!!!

  • @BowTiesRCool It is the thing most similar to it though

  • @BowTiesRCool And also i am sorry for my confusing words what i meant to say was that they are the descendants of te three brothers

  • @OfficialSaw3D

Dumbedore was one of the brothers since he attained the elder wand

Harry's father I think was the youngest since Harry got the invisibility cloak from his dad

I'm not sure who the philosophers' stone belonged to but who ever it did was the other brother

  • @Scimitar468 I'm sorry but I'm going to have to say you are completely wrong.

Dumbledor was not one of the brothers because the brother that asked for the elder wand was kill and I'm sure dumbledor did not kill him. Also Harry might possibly be the 3rd brothers grandson because if you remember harry got the cloak as a present which means his dad must have got is from the 3rd brother. As for the 2nd brother i have no idea. sorry just didn't want people believing the wrong thing.

  • @wesayDUCKYDuck but that is how the wand is transferred with its full power unless tere is some other way if so please elaborate. And with harry that is the exact thing i said just in different context

  • @Scimitar468 Actually the tale of the broters is not literal remember it's olny a TALE to tale about how the deathly hollows were made and remember dumbledor and james potter were not relatives ;)

  • @lestatdante true just my opinion i did not intend for them to actually be brothers though :P my bad

They could be really good friends and call each other brother or "bro" :D

  • The Tale of the Three Brothers:

    Voldemort died druken with power

    Snape died for love

Harry welcomed death with open arms.

  • THAT HAPPEND IN THE YEAR 12000s

  • THIS IS BETTER THEM 'Twilight' BOOK

  • rowling has the best imagination. ever.

  • what a nice guy death is lol

  • who would not like this scene its AMAZING!!!!!! :D

  • Download link? PM me.

  • thats pretty kool. im not into harry potter or anything but thats pretty kool

  • And then??????????????????????????

  • @fegu The moral is "if you strive to cheat/find Death, it will find you instead"

  • reply to this comment which hallow you'd have chosen

  • @joshstephenskyfox The invisibility cloak ofc :D the dead ones should rest in peace, and the elder wand would just cause so much trouble, I would totally overuse it XD but the invisibility cloak would be so damn sweet to have :D

  • @ThePetrificusTotalus thanx im startin an online DA reply stating your patronus if you want to join

  • @Applefan4232 the comment saying "figgah" was picking on English/Aussie accents. and plz dont use the n word or I'll report you for offensive language

  • I remember when I read this part in the books and wondered how they would show this in the movie... Just a wonderful, beautiful part in the motion picture ! Even became my favorite part ! Really cool done !

  • I hate when people compare the three brothers with Voldemort, Snape, and Harry just for trying to be in the top comments

  • Voldemort - died for power

Snape - died for lost love

Harry - the one who greeted to death like an old friend

  • @villi1997 oh yeah!!!! GOOD ONE!!!

  • @villi1997 Wouldn't it means that Dumbledore symbolizes Death in "The Three Brothers" story than? The wand, stone, and cloak sort of "came" from Dumbledore. And when Harry "died", he greeted Dumbledore as an old friend kind of like the youngest brother did in the story.

  • (deep breath) THAT WAS THE MOST COOLEST FUCKING THING EVAR.

  • I love this story. The animation and narration is beautiful.

  • @jshrubz mate get a life, racism aint cool

  • i love this story. the best story ever 3

  • Death looks friggin baddasssss!!!

  • I love this story. Emma tells it beautifully.

  • can someone telling the story? I don't like emma's voice

  • This reminds me of the God of War 3 cut scenes.

  • I got the deathly hallows sign tattooed on my wrist today!! never been this happy, ever

  • It reminds me of something by Tim Burton

  • @tweetybird1361 I remember reading this somewhere. Apparently Helena Carter, who plays Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter movies, is married to Tim Burton. Maybe he did actually help create this. It's a really powerful story.

  • Ron's mother sayd always ''Midnight'' instead of ''Twilight'' because Molly knows that Twilight books suck.

  • @TheBAMitsHenry twilight is not the same as midnight

  • i love the tale of the three brothers! I read it three times in one day from "The Tales of Beedle The Bard" <3

  • @ponigirl26 i did 2 lol random

  • English accents are the best!

  • Death looked fit

  • what a philosophical tale, i wouldnt be surprised if this was a take on something Plato once recited so long ago.

  • @ismelljello I think it's based on a tale by Geoffrey Chaucer (an English Poet). It's called the Pardoner's Tale and it's very similar to this story.

  • @Tas2312 Yeah, I noticed that too. It's quite similar indeed. And I believe J.K. herself said the Pardoner's Tale was her inspiration (:

  • i love the third brother. he was genuine. <3

  • I smell Tim Burton ^_^

  • @tarabahbeh Helena "I've told him to take a shower but he just wont unless I buy him the doctor who body wash!" ;)

  • @tarabahbeh Nope, Ben Hibon.

  • @tarabahbeh its nothing like tim burton..

tim burton never has that much motion and transitions

  • @elliottislington it doesn't matter if it was or if it wasn't, it was just a thought.

  • Seriously... are there any other animations in existence similar to this one? I know of an entire Xbox 360 downloadable arcade game, Limbo.

  • This looked like a Tim Burton creation

  • Who stole the Elder Wand from the first brother? I haven't read the book yet.

  • @ibehalyviaXD The book never says. I know emeric the evil was in possession of the wand sometime afterwards, but i don't think he was the killer.

  • @NoAwesomeness thanks.

  • @ibehalyviaXD

even though the book doesnt say, i think Dumbledore was the one who stole the the Elder Wand from the oldest brother.

  • @ibehalyviaXD Grindelwald.

  • @EmerlyLynnLuangrath thankkkksss.

  • hey, i really want to read the books but i haven't yet so i want to know who stole the elder wand? if anyone knows the awnser to this question, please reply. thanks!

  • This was one of my favorite parts of the movie. it was so beautifully done.

  • @keymoon124 i would like to see a dark cartoon like this one, but more twisted just like human nature.

  • @keymoon124 I so agree, i love it so much that i keep coming back to watch it. Stupid right?

  • This is the only time that "Twilight's fine, better actually"

  • I thought this was awesome when I saw it in the theatre.

  • I thought she was reading from The Tales of Beadle the Bard but the words are different to my book. :/

  • @iiTormented yeah thats what i said. but it is pretty damn close. i think it is an excellent adaptation though

  • @iiTormented I think they just changed the words to make it flow better. They wanted it to have a sort of rhythm.

  • Why did Death feel cheated? What an ass. They crossed the river fair and square. Back off, man.

  • This is so cool! Emma Watson's voice makes this seem so calm and gentle, as she is in real life. She was absolutely PERFECT for this scene.

Hermione:"Once there were three brothers walking apon a path at twilight"

Ron:"Midnight. Mum always said midnight...but Twilight works too!"

    ROFL!

  • The animation in this scene really reminds me of the Tim Burton movies!! xD

  • For some reason the First Brother seems to be a black man.

Am I being racist or is it OK to say that?

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I NEVER KNEW WHAT YOUR USERNAME WAS, BUT I SAW "BOWTIESARECOOL" IN THE CORNER. THATS FROM DOCTOR WHO!! HAHAHA! AWESOME THAT I FIND A HARRY POTTER VIDEO, YET DOCTOR WHO IS STILL RELATED TO IT! I LOVE DOCTOR WHO SOOOOOOO MUCH! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • "They found their path blocked by a hooded figgah."

    "figgah"

  • @ahaetulla don't you dare pick on english & australlian accents >:(

  • @BowTiesRCool I think English and Australian accents are sexy as fuck >:)

Emma sounds so cute BTW :3

  • @BowTiesRCool He wasn't picking on English accents, he was making a joke about figure with nigga...

  • @ahaetulla Yes, 'figgah'. That is how its pronounced.

  • @ahaetulla Yes that is how it is pronounced

  • @DFTWProductionsLTD lolololol. No it is not. It is pronounced "fig-yer". But there is a line concerning things I will argue about on the internet, and that is crossing it.

  • @ahaetulla Yeah 8D

    British powah XD

  • I love Emma Watson's voice it's amazing to listen too.

  • @Jess45671 And she narrates so well!

  • yes i loved this animation it was amazing~

  • Wouldn't that be cool if there was a rendering of this animation for the Harry Potter films? Don't hate me for it, but I've always wondered what it would be like to have seen Harry Potter as an animated movie. Yes, I know all of the possibilities that could go wrong with that, but don't judge. It was merely a curious statement.

I love this story. I'd read it to my children later on in life for sure.

  • So... if I were to buy Rowling's Beetle the Bard book, would Hermione's disembodied voice read all of the tales for me?

  • Looks very Tim Burton!

  • Does that mean .. Harrys dad was the 3rd brother because Harry not posseses the invisibilty cloke.

  • @saitbitw I was wondering the same thing... But I think Harry's grandfather is the third brother; Having him pass down his invisibility cloak to James, then to Harry. I may be wrong.

  • @Crazybunnylover

Harry is related to the brothers but it wasn't his grandfather, the story is hundreds and hundreds of years old.

  • @Fantasiastic Thank you, that makes more sense.

  • @Crazybunnylover Actually, I believe J.K. said that it was generations ago, so it was way past Harry's grandfather

  • @marvelgirlmarvel Thank you(: I knew I had it wrong, lolol.

  • @saitbitw More like he's a descendant of the third brother. That story has got to be centuries old!

  • how many times will i watch this? Love it too bits!

  • I think the murderer of the first brother was really Death in disguise.

  • @NaiTaiDai That's far too narrow minded and simple, if Death had of killed him why had he not of killed all three when they met on the bridge?

  • This is one of my favorite stories ever.

  • Everytime I watch this, it's giving me shivers

  • Voldemort - Died for power

    Snape - Died for love

Harry - Greeted death like an old friend.

  • @ClaireMangoify

good analogy! I haven't thought of that...!

  • @ClaireMangoify Your wrong. The one who died for Love is Snape The one who died for power is Voldermort The one who greeted death like an old friend is Albus Dumbledore.

  • @deathgaze05 I disagree. Dumbledore truly died for lost love in the way the second brother did. He wanted to use the resurrection stone to bring back loved ones, knowing it had a curse. He only arranged his death after he brought the curse upon himself. Snape never tried to bring Lily back. He did all those things to avenger her and keep Harry safe. Brave, but it doesn't really fit the description in the tale. Harry literally greeted death by walking to the forest and sacrificing himself.

  • @ClaireMangoify lol where did u find this ? i have read this in another vid by a user named daniel .... something

  • This part of the movie really surprised me, there was never anything as unique in the other films, probably one of my favourite parts :)

  • Amazing <3

  • I absolutely adore this animation!! Probably because I'm a Tim Burton fan. XD

  • YAy! -Clap, clap,clap-

  • Could someone help me with this: I'm looking for a movie that has ending credits a bit like this clip... fairy tale figures like mermaids and I think a spider, and lots of curls or branches... but only their silhouette against a coloured background... I had to think of HP immediately but I can't find the ending credits of one of the movies... apart from that: This scene might be my favourite one out of all the Harry Potter movies :)

  • Comment removed

  • The First Brother died for Power. (Voldemort)

The Second Brother died for Lost Love. (Snape)

The Third Brother greeted Death as an old friend. (Harry)

  • the music is haunting...one of the best parts in the movie <3

  • @mcnameer1 @failofafilmer2

it's the resurrection stone, as implied in the name it can resurrect loved ones from the dead. harry uses it in the last movie. besides, the philosophers stone was destroyed in the very first movie anyway. the resurrection stone makes up 1/3 of the sign of the deathly hallows.

  • this is so cool. added to favourites

  • @DobbyIsAFreeHouseElf love ur username!

  • @DobbyIsAFreeHouseElf i liked your comment, just cause of you user name

  • I like Emma Watson's precise English diction: "It was death, and he felt cheated." 0:28

  • Is the stone the philosiphers stone?

  • @failofafilmer2 Yeah, the one that harry had in the first movie.

  • @failofafilmer2 no its not

  • @failofafilmer2 No it was the resserection stone. Dumbledore destroyed the philosiphers stone in the first movie with nicholas flamel. Harry had it in the final movie this one. :)

  • Perfect!!

  • goosebumps!!!

  • only guud part in thees movie

  • i wear bow ties now bow ties are cool

  • perfect scene♥

  • Goosebumps everytime.

  • flying with death...like a boss

  • Thanks for posting HD. Fezzes are also cool.

  • One of the three brothers died for power, just as Tom Riddle/Voldemort died in his quest for total control. One died for lost love, just as Snape put himself in harms way out of his love for Lily Potter. The third brother greeted death like an old friend - Harry allowed himself to be struck down by Voldemort, where he was then given the choice to continue life or not. The story of Harry is just a retelling of the Tale of The Three Brothers.

  • @Blaze646 yes that is very insightful and well understood on your part :D good job fellow fan of potter!

  • @Blaze646 I thought almost the same thing...But thought of Dumbledore as the second brother. Becose of his love, he put in danger the magical world many times; his love of Grindelwald (becose...well, duh), His love for Harry almost completely ruined his plan to keep him safe and ultimately caused Sirius' death, and his love for Ariana weakened him fataly, both shortening his lifespan when he touched the cursed Resurection Stone, and when he drank from that potion in the Locket Cave...

  • @Blaze646 You stole this from Tumblr.

  • @leoniess15 Actually no, I don't even browse Tumblr. A friend came to the conclusion while we watched it in theaters and I thought it was awesome and decided to share.

  • I loved the animation, and was happy that they included it. Emma Watson was a perfect narrator for the tale.

  • TALK ENGLISH!!

  • Yes, Bow Ties ARE Cool :)

  • It's pretty beautiful, the animation.

  • imgur.com/gallery/9ZGd7

    It all makes sense now

  • 1 dislike... looks like Voldemort has come across this one

  • popieram przedmówcę...
