For him to not see the connection between his poor choice of a metaphor and Governor Palin, well, then, he is dumber than I had thought. The audience certainly drew the connection. Georgia wanted to join NATO, and Putin was sending a message. I am anti-war -- the way to achieve less war is to elect a strong President and V.P. whom despots fear, not a pacifist like Obama. Moreover, when and if McCain wants to launch war, because he is already considered "bellicose" his actions will be debated, and likely lead to diplomacy rather than all-out war. Contrast - Obama's decision to invade Pakistan (for example) will not be questioned whatsoever, based on his being a pacifist.

I'm not content with McCain either, but there's a huge difference in leaning ideologies; clearly, McCain is more conservative and is far more likely to insure that we have conservative justices.
