That's not to say that she doesn't sound pretty, but I know I speak for all legitimate opera singers when I say that there is a vast chasm between those who sing in a classical style, and someone who has a true operatic voice. Her voice has an interesting big quality to it, but aside from that, in the world of classical singing her voice is ordinary, and sounds as though she has never seriously coached or trained with anyone.

Cannot deny she has a nice, well instructed voice. One critique though- she's taking a slight risk singing this song a little faster than the version sung by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Botcelli (sp?), which is my favorite version. She's a little hard to understand in some of the Italian seccions, but, as I said, she does VERY well on this song, and she had a very beautiful voice! Just my 2 cents. :)

Jackie Evancho is very gifted, but she can not be compared to top adult sopranos yet. Charlotte Church was an incredible singer at 11yrs old but sadly her voice did not grow up with her, lets hope Jackies does. Classical crossover music was brought to America by the likes of Mario Lanza who sang pop music and operatic equally well, it is nothing new, just more popular, and now there are almost as many crossover concerts in UK theatres as pop.

She doesn't and can't - her voice isn't strong enough for opera as there are no microphones in opera. This song has nothing to do with opera either, it's a popular song written specifically for classical crossover which is the genre in which Katherine Jenkins performs.

I think Katherine Jenkins is a very good classical singer and has good breathe control! Her voice is rich and, as another so beautifully described, velvety like chocolate (and I've thought it for some time, too).

The only thing I don't like about this video is that the dancers and the back-ground are an icey blue and black, a wintery look and her dress is orange or red. I thought it spoilt the effect.
