Mortal Kombat the years later..... Liu Kang becomes a multi-millionaire and starts his own company.... and this is how Liu Kang deals with disgrunted employees....
A year later and I still come back to watch this scene here. Still thinking about Mortal Kombat, man. All those guys did for role call saw Robin Shou FLY over that desk @ 0:31 and that was it. They saw THAT scene and were like, "He's hired."
@MrSMBZ You're serious? You do know there are cuts throughout this fight scene. Stamina wouldn't be a problem. He trained Milla Jovonich for Resident Evil. I think he was watered-down/limited by the poor American directors and choreographers of this country in terms of fighting.
@MrSMBZ Couldn't do it anymore?... Mortal Kombat was like 4 years later or something. Lol. Oh and you don't see Donnie Yen slowing down in Ip Man, over a decade later.
You know what I like about this? Often when a lesser hero has to fight the villain, he's just a sacrificial lamb who gets slaughtered to show off how strong the villain is.
Here, David Wu actually manages to get some good licks in, it's just that Robin Shou just IS more skilled in the scene, meaning that despite him fighting, he still loses. It seems more believable that way.
This was really good, seemed like some of could've been undercranked, but that was the style then.
The end fight between Shou and Yen is technically flawless, but it was definitely missing the intensity of this fight albeit not being as "pretty." Hence the efficiency and intensity of this bout between Shou and Wu is my favorite of the movie.
@MrHoppers002 true dat! When it comes to martial arts hong kong has more better advanced sequences where the couragrapher can do whatever he likes without restrictions unlike in america. :)
@Aardcore I read somewhere that American fight choreography has this "safety first" except for the chinese who is based on "hit your opponent harder". That's why I would love to see an American fighting movie with a chinese fight choreography
Wow...robin shou is like another bruce lee guy by the way he fights with his martial arts skills and that chinese girl was funny in this clip...she did not even have a real killing gun in her hands, she was holding a water gun instead and was squirting that guy with that gun...water does not hurt, it just makes u wet.
damn robin shou looks way cool when he fights, even with short hair. I wonder why he didnt take his career that far, or at least starring in more movies... u___u
@gublue24 "Hey look a fight." XD drove me insane. It's a shame you there wasn't an option to change it.

plus hollywood hates when good asian martial artist show up there american actors so they probly ask him to slow down.

hong kong movies demand a different kind of fighting sequence. American movie fighting sequences are much slower.

@Aardcore he had to slow down so the americans wouldn't look like turtles next to him
DW1014 6 months ago
@DW1014 yes and its obvious. in mortal combat, robin shou can move better if the director would tell it to do so but he looks like stiff there.
whateverwhenever11 5 months ago
@Aardcore Well, american choreography is on "safety first" level, while chinese choreography is on "hit your opponent harder" level
Sesshoumaru888 3 months ago
@Aardcore Mortal Kombat is a crap american adaptation with bad combats choregraphies.
