hey don't listen to all those ppl about heat damage. All you need is to deep condition every week and use a good heat protectant when flat ironing your hair. I'm transitioning that's what I do.  Oprah has a press and curl too ladies.

I think your press n curls are pretty. I too have natural hair that I keep in a pressed state because it makes styling a lot easier plus it gets too many knots that need to be cut out if I wear it like that all the time. Just because our hair doesn't have a relaxer doesn't mean we need to all walk around with afros all the time, lol.

@Writerchic1 Yes, it causes heat damage, but you can greatly reduce the amount of damage by using good thermal protecting sprays and using quality heat tools that work quickly and do minimal damage to hair like a GHD iron. I can keep my press from wash to wash w/o using any heat in between and honestly, I see more split ends and hair breakage if I don't keep my hair stretched.

@nfray20 wow..this is why i started flat ironing my hair like 2 weeks ago..so I guess it is true...this will help to keep the knots at bay..I have been natural for almost 3 yrs now,& when I flat-ironed my hair, to my dismay, I found about 3 inches of split ends and knots that I had to cut out..it was rather depressing, and felt like a few steps back...my husband bought me a GVP & it works great on my hair..it is still a nice length but sucks because because it should be way longer, u know?

Thanks for the tips! You both have really pretty hairstyles. I'll have to wait until the weather gets much colder in order to wear my hair like this. However, last night I was inspired by your video to get a preview of how it'll look then. So I broke out my Vidal Sasson-- oohh :) --double barrel electric waving iron & after only 3 passes thru my hair for each section, it looked beautiful. About five minutes later, literally, it puffed right back up, my hair really hair loves humidity. :)
