  • This is an example of a traveling violation. An offensive player with the ball may not hop consecutively on the same foot upon ending his dribble. The offensive player on this play ends his dribble on his right foot as he gathers the ball, and he then jumps off of, and lands on, that same right foot. This is a traveling violation.

  • d wade does it best

  • His is like a one footed pro-hop, looks nice but most of the time will probably be not as effective as manu's or wayde's version, especially if he's adjust to that two hand floater like shot every single time which makes it way easier for the front court to send his shit versus him just finishing with a lay-up.

  • dwade does it better than anyone.

  • he's travelling

watch what he's doing before his first step of the eurostep :D

he holds the ball and jumps to his first step

all in all he does 3 steps

  • @SgtPatrick66 he is not I'm not from America so i can tell you what's it called but that is not traveling

  • ahaha this kid thinks hes manu

  • id like to see u do that against black people

  • @BieberKilled2pac Every single night, buddy... every single night. hahahah

  • too bad for Ricky they play D in NBA.

  • @chitowniswindy well he proved you wrong today with all the assists that he had

  • Way 2 early n u look like a fag smiling like a bitch..

  • That Was So UGLY !

  • He did it way to early.

  • aint got shit on manu's euro.

  • Nike signature move LeBron James : THREE STEP

  • wtf was that he was like 10 feet away from the defender and still euro step? dumb nigga!

  • Weak euro he's overrated not worth a first round draft pick by the t-wolves.

D-rose will show him whose boss, show him how the NBA does it!!!!

  • ugly euro

  • I'd say the biggest problem with his euro-step is that the video didn't give a good angle to see when he actually dribbled the ball.

Upon closer inspection it isn't a travel, more like a slight hesitation off the dribble. Nike needs to have a single take scene lol.

  • d wades is the nicest

  • i watched most of them for this signature series. Half of the steps are really pointless.

    "Call for the rock"

    lol

  • borderline traveling, refs nowadays will call that even though it's not, *sigh* yet lebron can stil crab walk smh manu does it more effectively either way

  • Hey Mesii, what the fuck are you doing there?

  • step 1: isnt surveying the court a given. especially for a point guard like rubio?

  • So..... the Euro step is yelling out "Quick, nobody guard me!"

  • tht did not luk like a proper euro step, it mightve worked in europe where athleticism and solo talent is taboo, but in the NBA tht move will get sent bak to ur face xD hes gota adapt to the euro step tht d wade n manu use :P

  • That will get blocked in the NBA

  • Ew.. Manu's is so much better

  • d wade does it better

  • why always the smile?

  • he looked like he is 16

  • Manu's is way better

  • manu does it better

  • @devontriple6 why does that make me a stupid ass. Idiot. You make no sense.

  • A hop then a step not three steps. J will used to do this.

  • I cant wait to see ricky in the nba!

  • how many steps is this? 2 and a half?!

  • he planted both feet but not at the same time and jumped off 2 legs

  • thats not a eurostep. eurostep is right leg to left leg 1 leg jump (if your right handed). this is a half step.. half step is when you jump stop you plant 1 of the legs first then you shift to the other leg right when it lands on the ground

  • Legal in Europe illegal in us. Get over it. It's still a nice move.

  • @CapAceBeatz Then all Euro cats stay the fuck out the NBA then., SMH @ your stupid ass

  • @CapAceBeatz illegal in europe too... basic 3 step travel call

  • step 1. Palm the basketball

step 2. Hop on one foot like a retard.

step 3 You are now a Euro fag

  • i thought this would be a travel cause he hops on on foot then takes a step with his left... i thought if ur gonna take a two steps it has to be in a running motion (right left right) or if you do a hop step u have to land on both feet.... but he goes (right right left)

  • why does this video look like one of those fan made, unprofessional, amateurish videos?

  • so that 1st step isn't a jump step? i know jump steps are 2 feet, but thats the 1st one i seen on 1 leg, u cant hop back & forth on 1 leg can you? even if it's only 2times, lol no way am I trying this on the street theyll call this on me asap

  • this dude needs to stop being a bitch and play in the NBA

  • @TheRJshimmy i believe you've gotten your wish sir

  • HE BUNNY HOPPED ON ONE LEG THEN THATS WHY HE T BETTER

OOK THAT AWKWARD SHOT. DWADE AND GINOBLI DOES IT BETTER THIS VIDEO HAD TOO MUCH EDITING. DWADES THE ART OF THE TWO STEP IS BETTER

  • Euro Step was invented by Sarunas Marciulionis :)

  • @amfiboliskas - no it was not. Many NBA players before that use to do that same move. Check out George Gervin highlights and you'll see.

  • 1 - motherfucker palmed the ball

    2 - motherfucker then walks....

  • @devontriple6 thats two steps bro

  • @htinereppa No, I made 2 points - he palmed & then he walked.

  • @radalad i don't think lionel messi has ever been more offended than being compared to this mediocre player

  • he does a little bunny hop at the beginning of his drive in, is he not traveling? he takes like 4 steps

  • @tomthegiantmidget if lebron gets away with his 4 step crab dribble, surely the dwade or ginobili eurostep is legal

  • @radalad yes it is totally <3

  • this the most idiotic travel ever believe it or not its not as stupid as lefakes crab dribble but for those of you who say this isnt a travel need to read the rules... In a lot of leagues the euro step isnt even allowed but it is in the Nba but set that aside he takes a hop step then continues with the euro step if he doesnt have a signature move then why post this non sense come on nike

  • @souljasai eurostep is only two steps its legal even in highschool

  • He looks like Greg from Every Body Hates Chris :L

  • I really don't care what ya'll say, but 0:26 is definitely a travel whether your playing for fun, fiba, euroleague or in the NBA. That's a straight call.

  • strait traveling yo

  • i wanna play this kid one on one.. nobody to pass it to bitch!

  • This is a travel by NBA rules, though not necessarily a travel by FIBA rules. According to the NBA travel rule, the player "with the ball may not hop consecutively on the same foot upon ending his dribble". Which is exactly what Rubio does - he picks up his dribbles, hops on the same foot that was planted when he ended his dribble, and goes into the Euro step.

  • @urbananalrapist Your right, but in the NBA they rarely call it.. Manu, wade and rondo love doing this move and I rarely see it called. Its a nice "cheat" move, I even do it on the courts with like 75% of everyone else doing the euro step. They might as well adopt it.

  • wtf he started the step to early ...

  • That sucked soooooo bad smh

  • 2 steps first one being his pivot. no travel.

  • If he was in the NBA that sH!t wouldve been sent. Try doin that over KG.

  • @kidprestige he would have passed it to KG's man though.

  • if this was a travel then nike wouldn't post it.

  • 5 steps o.O not... right , left up.. it just looks like it because of the bad camera angle in front of him

  • 5 steps.... worst than the King of Crab dribble..

  • he walked 5 steps...

  • that's 5 steps...

  • This is a move..it might not go by the rules but when players do it, it works thats what matters

  • the euro step is a standard move since many years...thats less travel than kobe's Pump fake & Pivot Walkthrough....

  • @champloomusic thats not a travel either...

  • i wish people would stop calling this a travel , you can only see him take 2 steps in the video , maybe he did travel but you cant see if he did or not, he steps on one foot then does a two foot shot, that two foot shot only counts as one step , some people may believe its 3 , but they are wrong, check the rules yourselves

  • definitely a travel... you can't hop and land on the same foot.

  • guys that arent saying this is a travel are a douche. first i dont care if its a professional video, the sole reason this is a travel is because after the pick and roll ricky hopped to plant a one-footer (which in nba after you hop your next step is considered your last step) anyway, ricky hopped then plants his right foot then on to the left foot. IN nba they call this the CRAB-Dribble where LEbron gets away with the call most of the time! hahah! still a travel though

  • @Nixiliog the one-footer that he planted was with a dribble.

  • this euro step doesn't look very smooth. they should've gotten a better shot

  • No travel, but it's awkward for sure. Summary: he picks up his dribble from his right foot... only to step with his right foot again. Coulda done the same thing from right to left foot, just took two steps with the right foot in a row, one after picking up his dribble, then back to his left. Not a travel, just fancy footwork. Step right, pick up dribble, step right again, step left.

  • I find it funny how people say its a travel, i mean its a proffesional video. Anyway he takes just 2 steps.

  • Come on! No one defends THAT lame like that guy (who wants to take the charge)

  • This one is clearly travel. But Manu's euro step is not a travel.

  • lmao step 1: SURVEY THE COURT!

  • its just when you hop like that... you HAVE to stay on the same foot

  • THE HARRY POTTER OF THE HARDWOOD.

  • I want to see it faster. Until then. He walked. Travelled. Damn near carried. He's cute, though.

  • @scootigger

    pause at 00:24

his right foot has landed BEFORE he picked up (stopped) his dribble, that makes that right step void (he didn't carry the ball at all, so all steps are part of the dribble, not countable). THEN, he hops on his right (this is the PIVOT, not the one before it as ball still in dribble), then left and up.

What I see is one dribble, pivot, then one step. That's a legal lay up.

don't know what you are talking about. Go read FIBA, Art. 25.2.2, 'While moving-'

  • @scootigger nawww he didnt travel lol thats 2 steps

  • he made a good choice by staying overseas to play and get more mature

  • I don't know why people are even arguing this. He was in the motion of his dribble, and near completion of the dribble after his landed his first right foot. That makes that right step VOID. THEN, he hopped on his right (1st step), then took another (2nd step) lay-up. Go read FIBA 2010 rules, Rule 5, Art. 25.

infamousmonster needs to look carefully at the rules and the video, he was in the motion of his dribble while the first right foot LANDED.

  • This Euro step is mainly different because he goes from his right foot to his right foot again, then back to the left instead of normal running, going right foot, left foot, right foot.

It's not a travel as long as his right foot never comes back down after he goes to his left foot.

  • people think it was travel because he didn't do it in a smooth motion.

  • did not travel...

  • To all the morons who think he did not travel, let me break it down for you...

He stops dribbling and then he skips on his right foot - ONE STEP

He then takes another step with his left foot - TWO STEP

His left foot is now the pivot foot, by NBA standards. He cannot move it, unless jumping up to shoot the ball.

But what does he do? He takes ANOTHER STEP with his right foot - THREE STEPS

Either that, or he's shooting a running jumpshot, which is inefficient at best.

  • In the motion of his dribble, that hop step of yours doesn't count.

When his right foot landed the second time, he had both hands on the ball, this marks the end of his dribble, not before it. You don't dribble per step in basketball, as long as you're in the motion of dribbling you can tap dance all you want.

IF, he played in the NBA (IF), once he had two hands on the ball, he can still take TWO steps from the TWO COUNT rule AFTER he ENDS his dribble.

Refer to Rule 10 Sect II & Sect XIII.

  • @CastorFrost LOL so you're saying that unless you have two hands on the ball, you can take as many steps as you want. I think you're severely misinterpreting the rules. The analysts always refer to the "two step" rule, which is effective immediately after your last dribble.

  • @infamousmonster

yes, provided the ball does not come to a stop or hand beneath the ball, or palming the ball.

Only effective when the dribble ends: two hands on ball, motion to shoot, or hand beneath ball.

Seriously, do I have to explain this to you? There is a copy of the NBA or FIBA 2009-2010 official Rule Book on the net, go read it.

Next time watch any fast break in any league, count the dribbles from end to end, and count the steps. See if your interpretation works.

  • i've never seen this guy...good move *2claps... but i've never seen em b4!????

  • its a travel because he used the same foot twice then went to the other foot. 3 steps. noone calls it anyway... except in my pick up games and when i use it...

  • i dont get it why people call this travel, its two steps!

  • it's easy, if you are taking a left handed layup. take a crossover dribble as you land on your right leg, then jump from that leg and land on the side of the defender with your left leg and make another leap to the basket..

    basic

  • more like Manu Ginobli's signature move

  • that's signature move of tony parker

  • look how skinny his arms are 0:11

  • lol dis fool traveled trust me

  • @jbryant44 if ur talking about the Euro step well its not a travel its also called a side step :) hope that helped

  • @jbryant44 looks like a travel yes.

but it's used all the time, it's originally called the two step

  • basic... nahhh....

  • You guys think it's a travel because the foot work is different, but if you watch closely he takes 2 steps, I think what throws us off is his odd hop to his right

  • rondo s better than rubio

  • @rovenir ...maybe..but then again rondo is 24 and rubio is 19

  • @tmh1717 .. age doesn't matter 'lol

  • @rovenir obviously... im surprised nike even sponsors this guy

  • Nah it wouldn't be travel in NBA because in NBA they allow do thing like Lebron's crab walk and 3 steps nah nah nah :D

  • @MicrobicHeart LOL Actually I think it's crab dribble but we get the point.

  • if it was a travel he wouldnt do it

  • rondo does thjis all the time so its not called

  • Ricky Rubio plays in Europe, so it is not travel.

  • no travel when he picks up his feet for the euro step he picks em up at the same time lands back on the right an finishes with the left thats only two steps an a great move

  • It's a travel in the NBA, but in Europe, you're allowed to skip. It's very effective in street ball, but sometimes you're gonna called out for it LOL

  • @infamousmonster stfu you dumbass its not a travel manu ginobli and wade do it all the time...

  • 47=pıɔ¿ןɯʇɥ˙ʎɹoƃǝʇɐɔ/ʞooqǝןnɹoǝpıʌ/ɯoɔ˙ɐqu˙ʍʍʍ//:dʇʇɥ

  • travel. 24 seconds gathers the ball.

then he proceeds to hop on the same foot.

check the nba video rule book. after gathering the ball you cannot hop on the same foot.

    automatic traveling violation.

    nbadotcom/videorulebook/categorydothtml?cid=74

  • Unfortunately, its travel. Once his right foot leaves the court that last time, its travel. Needs to jump off 2 or it counts as his third step. Luckily he's allowed 5 or 6 steps and 2 jumps in the NBA LOL

  • perfect play by a prodigy. anyone sayin thats a walk dont know shit about basketball

  • haha travel..

  • @thecarrotdude that's not a travel...

  • its not a travel idiot.

  • Travel.

  • TRAVEL. how you gonna hop twice on the same foot and then take another step?

  • The guy is taking a charge..

    0:30

  • hehehe his Nike vdos are the most watched

    Haters

  • wtf, he double dribbles? :p

  • Comment removed

  • where can i use this game tactic in a game situation?

  • this guy is the best dribbler ive ever seen

  • What about D Williams, Iverson, Jason Williams, Jamal Crawford ...and all AND1 players..

And don't forget about the great ...SKIP TO MY LOU

  • 1. i said ive ever seen and AND 1 games are hardly televised (where i live anyway)

    2. I havnt seen Iverson at all this year

    3. J Will is very good

    4. Utah is a very small market so i dont see much of Deron

  • Well then it's your fault ..because there are lots of good dribblers much better than this guy. And if you wanna see street dribble all u have to do is download from somewhere the Mixtapes.

P.D. Ricky could be a better player if he stops wasting time in Spain. NBA is waiting him

  • @BballStarr3 oh its my fault for not living near those players teams city and not wanting to waste my time with AND1 "basketball players"

  • @BballStarr3 and what the hell do you mean "P.D." last time i checked it was "P.S."

  • if u watch right before he goes into the move, he walks

  • why the fuck he even get in the DRAFT. He woulda loved the timberwolves, I think.

  • name of the beat???

  • rubio is a great player..but with all due respect that is MANU's signature move an no one will perfect it like MANU has

  • TYREKE EVENS!!!! i know this is manus sig move but no1 does it better then reke. he is simply a freak of nature with his last sec lateral shifts..

  • @vladimir4200 reke might be good but no one , except manu is better at this than d wade

  • get this weak shit outta here lol

  • @tommybrown187

Yeah, with out any real quickness with the move and catching a player on their heels, this won't really work.

And I've seen that move called a traveling violation, though you are technically allowed 2 steps.

  • no he wouldnt get blocked i tell ya that...and RUBIO is good...some euro players does that move like MANU...AND PARKER...and some like D-wade...who 9/10 would not get bloch using euro step/2 step..

  • does dwyane wade get blocked often..think not...that was just an instructional video Rubio is more than capable of just that.

  • Here in the USA we call that a BLOCK

  • @WayneCocaine your stupid how many times does d wade get blocked

  • @WayneCocaine stop haitin

  • @gmcims96 Wade doesn't throw up that soft shot either, Rubio looks like hes made of play doh

  • @gmcims96 haitin??? lol

  • he'd get that shit swatted if he played in the nba....amare stoudemire would send that shit into the 3 third row

  • still fucking gay will get blocked like his pussy face

  • @z28ls7805 i think ur the biggest retard alive. the whole point of the euro step is to get around the defender. do you wanna know who does it the most in the nba? manu ginobili. does he get blocked 24/7? no. its to get around a defender tryna take a charge. shows what you know.

  • wtf that bullshit will get fucking blocked in usa

  • hey dumbass with a euro step your behind the defender does evry layup get blocked? no! so stfu

  • u sound so fucking dumb bitch they euro step in the NBA all the time 2 avoid getting a charging foul
