  • A great song that Led Zeplin and Plant and Page did it justice. Nice to see the mastery of a blues legend- he take us ALL to school.

  • Can't believe I found this! Have Mercy!

  • left handed people who force themselves to play right handed make way better guitarist than most naturally right handed ones

  • superb!!

  • One of the Blues greats.

  • of course

  • I agree

  • what year was that 63 64 ??

  • this is from 1966

  • Alive and kickin' it. Still and always one of the greats. Priviledged to have seen him live twice.

  • Amazing.

  • Look at him playing that right handed guitar upside down, damn you righties!

  • It wasn't easy for a lefty to find a guitar, so back then you improvised!

  • Wasn't easy back then-how about now?! I've looked amost every day for 1+ yrs. and have only found one red Gibson ES 335 on ebay. That stinks when there's 80-100 righties on ebay every day! Do I sound a little bitter-lol.

  • its an epiphone he is using if you didnt which you most likely didnt.

  • cool... long live the poor man's Gibson !! Epiphones Rock!

  • actually back then Epiphones and Gibson were made side by side in the same plant with the same materials.

  • I hear ya brother, you are preaching to the quire.

  • choir*

    :)

  • Hell it easy now.the only lefties I find in guitar shops are pink Hello Kitty ones LOL. LOOVE this vid btw, Long live the Blues!

  • Otis is still alive; for those people who are refering to him in the past tense.

  • i love it! the originals were the best weren't they?

  • Man, he rocked!

  • enjoy u like it randy kiss

  • Long Live The Blues:)))))))))This Man is a Legend:)))))))And His Sound and Spirit Will Live on Forever:)))))))

    Rand(Bluesy)

  • enjoy u like it randy

  • Behold the reason for rock & roll. God Bless the Blues.

  • i think it is freddie below on drums and dave myers on bass, isn'it? Anyway great voice and great guitar playing.

  • Um...surely you jest?! ;)

  • get the original man.. by Willie Dixon.. you'd love it!

  • I only noticed tonight for the first time (and i've watch this clip ALOT), that even back then he knew Epiphone headstocks were butt ugly... check out the flat sawn off tip! Clearly visible at 4:21. That aside - this is easily my favourite blues clip on youtube.

  • Actually I read he cut the Headstock because the Epi HS is longer than a 335s and wouldn't fit a 335 case

  • The man had one of the most powerful blues voices ever.

  • this man's voice and guitar have haunted me since i was 16...especially the Cobra recordings. He's up there

  • artist

  • i think he was sweating like crazy cuz he was in a room with 200 honky racist bastards i mean just look at them they look like the people in the movie reefer madness!! i think they stepped into the wrong auditorium they originslly bought tickets for the preaching of the third reich

  • I don't know why folks give the Euro audience a hard time. I mean Memphis Slim went to Europe on tour and never came back. Ditto for a bunch of blues and jazz artists. They were a reserved crowd because they treated this music with the same respect they did classical and opera.

  • your a fucking idiot. stop playing the racist bullshit. he's sweating cause he's under blistering stage lights. i'm sure the "honky racist bastards" were there for MUSIC.

  • wow that chord voicing he pulls of at around 3:03 is incredible!

  • every time i hear this song i get goosebumps

  • what idiot rated this a 4?

  • fuck yea..play that thing baby. This man is my daddy..lol my 100th daddy of so many blues men.

  • F*ck!!This is GRRREAT! Eric who?

  • Fantastic. Not sure if the crowd really gets it, though...

  • 'They' never do...

  • I still dont understand it when people give stuff like this 4 stars!! Otis is my favourite this is what cemented it for me. Everyone should have this and a copy of 1956-1958 Cobra sessions top class chicago south side blues!

  • There's nothing wannabee about Mr Rush. He's on it, 'neath it, next to it, and all over it. THANKS for posting the strong stuff.

  • What kills me about this clip is how effortless his singing and guitar playing appears. His vibrato is PERFECTLY controlled and so god damned natural! I hate him! Heehee... Seriously, what a brilliant performance. Thanks so much for sharing. Absolutely wonderful. I'm a big Led Zep fan and it's such a treat to see and hear the original version. Love, Mackey

  • this is what made me hate led zepplin

  • Thanks for this.Saw him once at a nightclub in Santa Cruz 84 I think. Peformed brillianty!

  • Classic Otis... Right on! Thanks for the post!
