This is a complete load of shit.... a great portion of people we have to transport inter hospital in qas patient transport vehicles when they are perfectly capeable or going un-assisted but can't because they have no family or friends who can help so we are forced to clog the qas system with them. there are some private companies that employ paramedic qualified operators but thats rare. using taxi's is now common and its cheap.
