  • I remember it fondly. I was 10-11 years old and was about to see Raiders on VHS the first time ever. It started with this, my first experience of Indiana Jones back in the great year of 1984.

  • @Retsler54 Thats where I got it from. Glad it could bring back the memories. One of the first "teaser" trailers I ever remember seeing.

  • Finally! I found the legendary Teaser trailer for this film. I remember watching it on a copy of Raiders from the local video shop, and have been looking for it for years afterward. Well Done!

  • @CLDavi1983 I still have the tape its from. The cover is beat to hell but the tape still plays.

  • This trailer was a pack of lies, they don't go to Hong Kong, London, or any of those other places. Thanks for posting though, interesting!

  • @Paul07791 They did go to London, most of the film was actually filmed on sound stages at Pinewood Studios.

  • @paulpetroleum I was refering to the characters in the movie not ending up in the locations indicated by the trailer. (Though I acknowledge that you may be being a little bit sarcastic as well as informative.) Thanks.

  • Aaah! I used to watch Raiders on VHS with my dad... we wore out our first tape because we watched it so much. This teaser was on the head of that tape. (There also was a mail-in postcard with a trivia question about the film, to win some sort of prize. I believe the question was "what was the homework Indy assigned to his class") We ended up buying another VHS copy, and it didn't have this teaser.

  • @yorgle Yeah I happened to score the VHS for this many years ago when there was a Video store going out of business. I still have the tape.

  • Hang on lady..we going for a ride!

  • trust me!

  • This teaser trailer was shown theatrically, I know it. I distinctly remember seeing it at the movies.

I haven't seen it in many many years. Its simple and to the point but still effective. Thank you very much for posting. I'd been looking for it.

  • I must had seen this trailer hundreds of times when I was a kid.

  • Announcer: Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, And Harrison Ford As Indiana Jones Are On Location In San Francisco, Hong Kong, Macao, Shuri Lanka And The Indian Ocean, And In London Filming The Greatest Adventure Of All Time. Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom.

    Indiana Jones: Trust Me.

Announcer: For The Summer Of 84 From Paramount Pictures.

  • Ah, the summer of '84...my favourite year. Great days.

  • Wow! I remember seeing this at my cousin's house in the 1980's. He had got the Raiders VHS tape for his birthday. Remember when VHS movies were kinda expensive back then? Thanks for posting.

  • This teaser for IJ:TOD was on the RCA CED videodisc of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  • Probably looked a lot better than my beat up VHS copy. Thanks for sharing and the comment.

  • Oh yeah it probably does. I got this tape also and it's all wrinkled up.

  • but that's not the end of my string of comments on this vid. i challenge you to name ALL the teasers/trailers before and after this one

  • then reply to this comment saying that you found it. but that's not all: post a video to show proof.

  • i have a challenge: if you have a Paramount tape from 1984,put it in and film the trailers until you see the theatrical trailer for this movie

  • Trust me,,, Baby :) LOL

  • I was just watching my Raiders VHS and this popped up :)

Only 25 more days til Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!!

  • I remember being upset that this was not included on the DVD.... I used to love this little teaser before my Raiders VHS as a kid. Good to see I'm not the only one with fond memories of this....

  • Raiders must have been released on video in 1983.

  • It was 1983 that the tape was released because of the date on the teaser at the very end it 1983 ...good eye I still have the original tape and its cardboard case . Everything on it say 1981 copyright but that was when they were only putting the year of original release I believe. Could be off though. Thank you to you and to everyone for your comments Can't wait for IV

  • Can't wait for four either!

  • The vhs came out in December of 1983, more than two years after the movie came out and a year since it was re-released in theaters. Was this trailer specificially made first for video and then theaters?

  • I think so. This was before our wonderful Intarweb so movie teaser trailers and such weren't as easily accessable. We had to wait for movie magazines to come out with out dated info and sit through Entertainment tonight to catch any teaser info on movies. THis was I believe done exclusively for the first VHS release of Raiders. I do not ever remember seeing this version in the theatres though it could have been.

  • Which means there was no widescreen version as the print was made specifically for standard tvs. One of the first videotapes to ever show an upcoming movie before an old one. When Star Wars first came out on vhs, was there a preview for Jedi?

  • There coulda been a widescreen version, though. They coulda just used the 1.85widescreen version of the Paramount logo and matted it. That would only mean it would have shown in theaters in the summer of '83 'cause the Raiders VHS was out that christmas and they created another teaser that was put in theaters.

  • if i was lucas i would've put this on the KOTCS DVD

    or did they already?

  • GREAT ! Thanks a lot for posting !

  • i saw this on a tape at the library in clifton. Great teaser. Too bad they didn't put it on the dvd, but they put in the theatrical trailer.

  • Yes, I remember this on my now completely worn out VHS Raiders copy.Nice piece of nostalgia.

  • THis's the best movie of the world!! I love IJ & Cia!! thanks a lot!!

  • I love the opening of this film. Very James Bond and the rest of the film is a fun ride.

  • Nice. The first time I watched this teaser was on the RCA SelectaVison video disc of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in early 1984. I was mad with anticipation for this movie because of this teaser. Thanks so much!

  • Yep, that's when I first saw it, too. My parents had separated 3 months earlier, but got me that CED for Hanukkah jointly, since they knew how much I loved Raiders of the Lost Ark. To this day it's still my favorite movie.

  • wow never seen this teaser , my favorite movie!!!

  • This was on the vhs tape for Raiders I think.

  • I remember this!

  • What the Hell! Why didn't they inclued this on the DVD???

  • Man Indy and Jack Burton are my childhood heroes (still actually) Love everything that has to do with the Indy movies and big trouble in little china.
