  • I need to smell the air and touch the soil my ancestors hailed from, I feel it in my blood like a tidal force. Why is that tug so strong? I have kin that died at Culloden and again in the American Revolution and again at Gettysburg. Druim-an-deur. I myself am alive after tours down-range in the Korengal valley and Iraq, by God's grace, not that my enemy didn't try. Many of my brothers did not make it. What a long line of sorrow and bravery, it's too much to comprehend. Anyway, beautiful music.

  • So beautiful! <3

  • An Australian gal named Gail told me that God gave to the Scots the knowledge to make the Bagpipe so that He could hear us play for Him His song "AMAZING GRACE..!!!" I am now convinced that He also wanted to hear "THE GAEL...!!!" Thank you for posting this beautiful video and music.....geraldalann

  • @geraldalann Your more than welcome ......The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are certainly a great band ..... The Gael is one of the best for sure !

  • WOW.....Until I heard this song I had no idea the Royal Scots Dragoon Guard played so amazingly beautiful......this song brings tears to me eyes and chills to me bones......though I am 7th-generation American, this music and your accompanying video makes me proud of my Scotland heritage......Now I must hear all the rest of Royal Scots music......P.S. By the way, my favorite dog in the whole wide world is the Shetland Sheep Dog---more beautiful than Lassie...!!! Long live the Sheltie...!!! : )

  • hello from brazil

  • @ElpequenoVolador Hi..... all the best from Scotland :)

  • But last of the Mohicans had nothing to do with the Scots.... Did it?

  • @bandboy11111 The tune is Scottish it was written by Dougie MacLean and it's proper name is "The Gael"..... It was adapted by Trevor Jones as the main theme music to the film "The Last of the Mohicans hence the reason it's better know by that name !

  • @TheShadowKiller17 Well said and I'm Welsh!! Think of Scotland as my spiritual home!!

  • @TheShadowKiller17 Why what possible diffrence would it make, so you could just get raped all over by the EU just like the rest of the UK nations. Leave the EU first. Also are you not proud for the fact that Scots,English,Welsh and the Irish have been in a Union since the 1700s and formed a British nation were all are equal and also had a major part in shaping the world today.

  • @arenaus Cheers......... all the best from Scotland !

  • I think there are lots of Scots Native Americans and Canadians. One example is singer Rita Coolidge (perhaps not so well known among the younger generation) who is a mixture of Cherokee and Scots. The Hudson Bay company in Canada was run by Scots - with many from Orkney and Shetland - and many of them married local lassies. We certainly have a lot in common.

  • Had this play at my grandad's funeral 2 years ago, this has loads of memories and sends chills down my spine everytime...this shows just the tip of what the rest of the world don't see about how amazing Scotland is!

  • @nightshade575 Cherokee and Wampanoag with Scottish and Irish in my blood. Gov Bradford is in my blood line, as well, and he was one of the first people to ever make peace with the Natives.

  • @nightshade575 If I was president, I'd employ ALL Native Americans to teach in our schools the ways of their ancestors (language, religion, culture, etc.). It is bad enough that many have to establish casinos just to scratch a living.

  • @nightshade575 Many thanks for your comment my friend :)

Agreed it's an amazing tune !

    Greetings from Scotland !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nightshade575 Rightfully so. The ancient Scots were tribal. Living off the land as best they could. What are Clans now, were tribes in ancient times.

  • @DrinkToIreland Thank you. Long Live the Choctaw Nation and Scotland!

  • @nightshade575 Aye :)

  • @DrinkToIreland LOL, always remember how the English anihilated most of them... while french were allied with almost every nations. This is no personnal attack, only historical rectification. Europeans should have never come here and leave the natives alone, i'm so sorry for their amazing culture being drowned in our stupid capitalist and selfish way of living...
