You fuckers need to hire a person to direct the video making aspect. This video was like watching an inadamant object just sitting there. The only hint that there was something cool going on was the sound. Typical techies who don't have even the slightest concern about presentation. I'd say; "stay in school and sign up for some non tech classes."
I like to feel sexy....knowing someone is watching me ..wanting me...turns me on!BADLY! I like to flirt and pose..and sometimes i like to get WILD! how? ..he he..come in video and youll see:-)) maybe u can teach me something..or maybe i will ! come visit me at - MeetYourFling _dot_ COM - my user-id there is alisun-klbl chat soon on cam :-) lchqwiirba
I noticed that during the startup there were some indications of metal-fragments (sparks) in the flash of flame that exited the tailpipe. Where did these come from?
Awesome. The only problem is when this wonderful technology will became available to the public.
They have been around for years now ... same website, same videos, obscene prices, hello when are you guys deciding to let us use the %#$^&*& thing it's just little more than tin foil folded a certain way. The planet could use a little less oil on it's system NOW!

hi, im a student and i was very fascinated by your jet engine. i am interested in mechanics and technology and i thought this would be an excellent project for me and a few of friends and some teachers to work on. so if you could possibly send me some parts or even theblueprints used in your engine that would be much appreciated
Unfortunately development cost with Miti is very expensive and they quote "best efforts" only. They need to get real about the cost of the bearings, it ain't rocket science as they say
Is there any information on the general construction of the engine. What is the compressor design (radial, axial)? Any website that talks about the project in general, looks like pretty cool stuff.
From what I can gather Korolon is a coating which is used to reduce friction and wear between the bearing surface and the shaft. I looked into these bearings for an oil free turbo I was designing but sadly was told by my supervisor that they were too expensive - shame, because the alternative we came up with was false economy really. I will be watching developments with interest though!
Jet A fuel was used. Jet A with a little oil added lubricated the forward ball bearing. A compliant foil air bearing made of high temperature nickel based super alloy coated with Korolon supported the engine's hot section. Korolon protects the bearing surface during start up and shut down when the shaft contacts the bearing. At operating speeds the shaft glides on a film of air. Bearing cost is coming down and will be competitive with current bearings when purchased in large quantities.
RED HOT!

What is the load carrying capacity and life of such bearings? Is the coating capable of start-stop sliding friction for a long time?

very cool. Foil bearings are the way to go with any very high speed turbine.
