@lightsora314 Yes but it was lame he was nerfed so badly. It was more so because fan's were to in love with Goku. Toriyama had always hinted since the beginning of Z at Gohan having a secret power. At the age Vegeta was burning rats with ki blast, Gohan had headbutted and hurt Raditz, at the age his father was fighting evenly with Tien and Yamcha, Gohan was fighting Recoome of the Ginyu Force. I mean, there was no reason he shouldn't have been able to go SSJ3.

Making Goku come the farthest out of all of them plus adding that his father was "low class". Goku is the main protagonist for a reason. Just thought id give my thoughts haha.

@yemster13 i think it would have been a fine ending, per se. gokus issues with the Red Ribbon Army would have been resolved, the world is at peace, no "looming danger" thats at all related, and the cell saga fights were pretty beast, so it would have ended on a good note. everything after the cell saga was unrelated issues solely made up for the point of watching the characters further develop, but thats all, really. it would just need a different "ending", you know, to really "end" the series

Buu saga was alright, but didn't come close to the epic scale of the Cell saga and just got odd at places... beside which, the story really came full circle at the end of Cell. DBZ started with Raditz coming to earth and the only way they were able to beat him was Gohan releasing has hidden power for the first time. Throughout the rest of the series it keeps popping up, but this is when he finally masters it and takes center stage.

I know we would have missed out on a vast quantity of some of the shows best moments, but take a moment to think about how complete the show was upon the completion of that saga. Frieza, lord of the universe, slayer of the saiyan race, beaten by the super saiyan of legend. That and how a lot of the characters really came into fruition

@mtruthm I disagree, Buu has a more demonic face than Cell or Frieza and is way more evil looking than them. And it was actually good idea to have Goku kill Buu cuz he was the final villain and Goku was the main character of the show, so that was an excellent way to end the series. Before Buu, Goku didn't kill Cell or Frieza (he was still barely alive after Namek exploded and Trunks Killed him). Gohan vs Buutenks was equal at the start of the fight. So it should've ended at the Buu saga!!!

You forget the big hint of how he wasn't even able super but he had all the power of one just none of the weaknesses. SSjs burn up too much energy even tho they super powerful. Goku said this himself mutlply times it's like a evolved form of the kioaken. Gohan was as strong as a ssj3. The creator show his body shooting out power like a ssj3, but once again he caved to fans and Gohan didn't win.

He learned to breach the threshold of a super saiyan, and begin to tap into the next level, but he never learned to increase his strength without decreasing his speed. I agree. However, he was the only half saiyan to really train himself to that point, because his father's shadow loomed over him for an entire year. Gohan didn't train to get it he was just given it.

OK just had a demon-like reputation early on in DB. also, it has been stated by Toriyama himself that by the end of DBZ, when Buu is defeated, Gohan IS the strongest non-fusion in the series. everyone just thinks that Goku is the strongest because of his SSJ3 form, but Mystic Gohan is actually stronger. confirmed by Goku and Toriyama both.
