  • I lived in Destin during Opal, Ivan, Frances, and a few tropical storms.

  • @willfuckforbeer and @seadog1988

Wow, Hurricanes really do change lives. Glad u guys are ok now. LOL

How was fay? I had to go through Ike. Windy, very windy.

  • I worked this storm as an insurance adjuster. This was a horrible storm I had ac claim with a General that was in charge of a naval base there he said that thier wind meter broke at 225 mph that is some amazinge winds. I really felt for the people in those areas that was affected by this storm.

  • Historic footage there man! Awesome!!!

  • This is not a storm surge. It is called high surf. A surge is an incoming movement of water that persists, not huge waves in the water.

  • @RobertMOdell correct, sir. ive witnessed surge here where i live, in galveston texas. in hurricane ike i had 6 feet of water in my yard, and it was moving from the bay to the beach, just like a river. there werent any large waves, the water was flattened by the wind. the current was tremendously fast. our brick was pushed off the house by water, and a toyota 4 runner was floated through the ceiling of the garage, to rest on the 2nd floor. storm surge is no joke!

  • hey i was there like 4 weeks ago and i saw the new one of that pear thing

  • we lost 4 surfers the day before she made landfall in FWB Island.

  • sry to hear that but they shouldnt be out there like that i kno its an action sport in all but there should always be a limit

  • Haha i remember being on the pier about 2 hours before It hit

  • I was at home in Pine Grove(1 mile south of Bay Minette)

man i remeber listening to the radio while trees were falling all around me

  • YEa I went completely out of my way, with trees falling all around me to go run to my next door neighbors house, run in, and take all their dr pepper then run back.

  • Hurricane Ivan made landfall on September 14, 2004 in the late night hours between Pensacola Fla. and Gulf Shores, Ala. on the Ala Fla line. I remember it well...when you have such good times you dont soon forget them or the date they occured.

  • I live in Gulf Breeze, and stayed home during the storm. It sucked being in the living room at 1am and look over and see water rushing in the room. So we ended up in 18 inches of water til around 7am. We were told it was a no flood zone (but were insured for it anyways luckily, def paid off) I've lived here almost all my life and its never came close to flooding, and I've stayed for all Hurricanes. Ivan sucks.

  • I live in Spanish Fort, AL about a 2 hour drive from Gulf Shores and i will tell u i was up all night for this one. i had a wind gauge up for the storm and it read as the eyewall passed over 135 mph sustained with a few gusts at 145 to 150 mph. it was like WOW.

  • @StormPatrol420 IVAN HIT ATMORE ALABAMA TOO

  • i was at hime during ivan. remember listening to thee radio hearing about the roof of the movie theater coming of in foley. Then about the tornado or micro burt hitting BMMS. a tree fell on my house and we went out to see it in the eye. the whole neighborhood was out there looking for damage
