  • A good tip to make a phat/wider bassline (good for electro house and shit) is to create a line mixer and connect 2 subtractors to 2 of the channels. Then pan one of the subtractor channels left, and the other one right on the mixer (both about 50% works well but just have a mess to see wot works best). Then mess around with the octaves, envelopes on both subtractors and what not, try making each subtractor different for added surround.

  • I do hip hop/R&b/soul and I've been using reason for a bout a year myself, I must say that the program is very unique compared to other programs, the possibilities are really limitless when you consider all the different functions and orders that can be put together when device modding, things can happen by mistake that are just wonderful. Reason is the best IMO only because you have to really know your stuff to produce the best material. People say it's limited, but its not.

  • great stuff. can you record on the fly or do you just have to use the copy to track button? 'What you hear' driver can record whilst anything is playing so Reason 'should' be able to, surely?
