actually in japanese version Soren and Ike are together. They just remove it from the U.S. version because they're homo hater XD. well it's not all I don't remember in which Fire Emblem is it but Lucius a boy loved another boy but U.S. version will never let that happen xD.
Actually, there's no possible way for Ike to have any kind of relationship ending with Elincia in FE10 that's more than very good and understanding friends. The same pretty much goes for Ike and Soren in FE10, but I like to think they're pairing in my own little world.

Yep that's the ending if you import your POR file with A support Ike/Soren and get A Support Ike/Soren in Radiant Dawn. Remember to play POR on Normal/Hard only though 'cause the easy file doesn't load for some reason.

The biggest thing that lets you know that Ike and Elincia have no future together is after the Greil Mercenaries show up to help at the end of 'Endgame - Elincia's Gambit' in Radiant Dawn. He admits that Bastian hired the company, and asks if Elincia needs him to stay. She refuses, saying that she can do it on her own.
It's a touching scene, because it tells us that she's not only gotten over her little crush on Ike, but that she's also finally ready to become the queen she now has to be.

You probably know this, but Ranulf can follow Ike on his journey instead.
I think it's pretty telling that Ike's strongest bonds to anyone that isn't his sister is:
1. One of the latest joining members of the greil mercenaries. (Soren)
2. A male warrior who he literally only has spent a few months with at most(and who he has known for roughly three years).
