Love it. I get what the video maker is doing here. It's pretty warped. Too bad youtube is full of mIley-cyrus loving idiots. Of course, the animation could have had more detail in it. Atleast texture the character more and improve the scene lighting. But the haunting/medium theme visual story makes up for it. The winner really is the best, but only by a smidgeon.

I was cutting my mom's hair and playing "in rainbows" on her super nice Bose Stereo (she is a classical and religious music only gal in her 70's...)she was not impressed this song came on .. she loved it.She has never liked any pop bands including the Beatles.Radiohead goes into musical territory that even "serious music" only fans can appreciate.They put their music on teen movie soundtracks and kids find them..Radiohead is for everyone.

While at first I was quite sceptical (the style of the house for instance, at first I thought it was a bit disney-ish for Reckoner) I think its a pretty good video. I think you need to want to watch it and not want an instant quick fix (but if your a Radiohead fan your not that kind of person anyway) The winning video was better I think, but this is a very close second.

I am usually not critical but "In Rainbows" was such a strong album and this just didn't do one of the best songs on it justice. Or maybe I am not stoned enough.

Check out the winning video. That was perfection, It fit the song, had depth and was visually beautiful.

I hadn't noticed that both videos feature plants (growth) and destruction. Hmm.... interesting that both people saw those themes in the song. The winning video then offered a view of a new planet (or people or species) that evolved to higher level. Golden, even! That is what made it so stunning for me. Plus I love the song! I read that REM was one of Radiohead's influences and I think you can hear that in the song "Go To Sleep" (that song has a cool video, too).

In my humble opinion, this video doesn't match a thing with the song. It could be a good video, by its own (even if I totally don't agree), but it doesn't have a clear meaning, vor a link with the song meaning, and, what is more important, it communicate a totally different feeling from the song's one.
