I worked many MANY years in retail with double industrials, 10 studs (5 per ear) and traguses and bright red hair and i fit in with "management" I no longer have bright red hair or traguses and i have 1 1/4" plugs and i LOVE them.

I guess I can see where the guys coming from, it is annoying and frustrating that scene kids are taking things we genuinely love and turning them into a fashion thing, especially when they don't really care for actual body mods, and they just want to fit in. This counts for both piercings and tattoos.

the only time scene kids annoy me is at concerts, im seeing a day to remember and august burns red on thursday at the starland ballroom and its going to be all scene kids and their going to be hardcore dancing and shit. But its worth it if i get to see august burns red.

I guess I can see where the guys coming from, it is annoying and frustrating that scene kids are taking things we genuinely love and turning them into a fashion thing, especially when they don't really care for actual body mods, and they just want to fit in. This counts for both piercings and tattoos.
At the same time, it's pathetic that anyone would take their piercings out just because scene kids have started sporting them. Ridiculous.

I hate the 10 min youtube rule. I could've listened to you for hours man. I personally have 2g ears, which is nothing, and i had a lip piercing in for like a week (mom wasn't happy). I have been labeled emo, poser, follower. I do it because i personally like it, i think it looks great, and i respect people who do it because of the risk they are taking. I also agree with the comments below about taking this well, and explaining yourself before the bad words and ass threats came out haha.

the only time scene kids annoy me is at concerts, im seeing a day to remember and august burns red on thursday at the starland ballroom and its going to be all scene kids and their going to be hardcore dancing and shit. But its worth it if i get to see august burns red.

i totally agree with you. i mean even though my ears are a tiny 1/2" i plan on going to 7/8" or 1". everyone i know doesn't understand why i would "do that to my body" but ultimately its what i want and i think its a very beautiful thing. i used to get frustrated when i saw people who have no idea what their doing get pierced or stretched ears but i doesn't really matter because its making them and myself happy with the way we look in the end.
