  • Puppets of the automobile/oil/asphalt/construction industry, free yourselves. We would all prefer a garden of eden over this suffocating ocean of poisonous asphalt and concrete. Gangster cartels built this wasteful ugly atrocity of a 'nation' and enslaved everyone to it's stupid automobile slavery design. I stopped driving 11 years ago and never regret it. I saved lots of money, time and headaches. Zombies, wake up. Free yourselves from your corporate-designed slavery. CarFree . com ... End war.

  • WOW this is in-front of a state of the art jet fighter, very impressive Obama is starting to look like a commander and chief, we the USA must be going to war soon, most likely with Iran, hey Goldman Sachs on wall street do we really have to go to war just so you the big boys can make more and more money

  • Drill baby drill. He should hire sarah as his oil czar.

  • Frankly, I think he spoke as he sees it, without sugar-coating. I appreciate his domestic interests. I'd rather hear this than all of the communist lies from Bush. Bush never addressed one single domestic problem. The only domestic interest Bush ever showed was for the Patriot Act and the North American Union treaty, both very negative for the people of the US. I don't disagree with anything Obama said here.

  • yeah.. whats airforce one or marine one's mpg?

  • Whats the prize of REE ?? Rare Earth Elements..??

  • Obama has got to be careful with what he says about Offshore drilling. Offshore drilling is a very controversial issue among many Americans, and the last thing Obama needs right now is for this issue to turn into a deterrent, because he's still campaigning around the country trying to sell health care to the American people.

Tread lightly Obama. VERY lightly.

  • BEST PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME

  • This is just another smoke and mirrors to try to gain back votes for the fall, the democommies approved the same crap before the Presidential election and then rescinded it......this guy wants to be a Dictator, because he feels its the right thing to do........

  • Now the EPA is going to back-door Cap N Trade but look what else they do: The EPA certified that a gas-powered clock radio was an energy-efficient product under the governments Energy Star program, despite the fact that neither the clock nor its manufacturer ever existed. The clock and 14 other phony products were part of an investigation into the Energy Star program, which submitted 20 fraudulent Energy Star applications from four fake companies.

  • an amazing president, obama 2012.

  • the Green Team.... lol

  • This president is one of the most HONORABLE we have seen in a long long time!

  • This is great

  • new land to drill on ? TRANSLATION= More land the government will confiscate from the people...

  • Although I'd rather not see these new areas opened up to drilling, it is good in the sense that it will help reduce the dependence of the U.S. on Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East. However at the same time Obama needs to be making sure that we are transitioning to alternative and sustainable energy sources. Our economy can't grow unless we change the way that we use energy and the way in which we obtain energy.

  • i concur with obama...

  • flip floppin asshole

  • I am your Arm! I am your Voice! I AM!

  • I am your Arm! I am your Voice! I AM!

  • It is the sole responsibility of government to fund future energy development!!!! Tax breaks, tax credits, and wholsale funding for the American people!!!!

  • We need to tax anything and everything that either is a fossil fuel, or uses fossil fuel!!!! President Obama, this is the reason we elected you as our President!!!! You gave us our healthcare, now give us our clean energy that you promised!!!!

  • Obama's flip flopper

  • I don't like off-shore drilling, but we need to reduce our dependance on foreign oil. President Obama is just being pragmatic. Not dogmatic...

  • It's all playing out.

    Right on schedule .

    So easy.

    larouchepac . com/lpactv?nid=14038

  • I think it's regrettable that this is happening, but it may be necessary. I hope we can transition towards more public transit in cities to reduce the need for oil in the long run.

  • I disagree with this decision.

  • How about a new policy on drilling permits: use it or lose it. If petroleum companies don't use a permit within 12 months, they lose that permit. This will open up permits to their competitors and to smaller oil companies. They shouldn't be allowed to hold on to permits for years without using them, an anti-competitive process.

  • @ainemacdermot

The safest thing to do with fossil fuels is to leave them in the ground for a time when they're almost used up and the price has gone through the roof.

The same is true with uranium, actually. The safest thing to do with it is just leave it in the ground.

Obama was right the first time. We need clean energy. It's the 21st century. Nuclear energy and fossil fuels are for fossils, i.e. people who have no imagination and who are living in the past.

  • If you think about using these biofuels as of right now will cost $35 a gallon compared to $3 a gallon for regular jet fuel. That's pretty damn expensive but there's very little right now to bring cost down to biofuels since corn is a big part of the biofuel mixture.

  • The F-18 Superhornet you see in the background is a test plane that will be used for bio jet fuel. The thing is for jet fuel usually cost 3 a gallon when the military buys it. This test plane with the bio jet fuel will cost $35 a gallon. So this is just a test program to see if the military will go for it.

  • I believe you have to go at all directions with nuclear power, off shore drilling, and wind and solar power. The sad thing about nuclear power is that its going to take years to even build a new one and for off shore drilling it takes about 5 to 7 years if you find oil in a new field to get the oil out to the market. My friend is petroleum engineer at BP in Anchorage. The good thing is that my brother works at Baker Hughes that supplies the equipment, that will help him out big time.

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA.

  • Sorry, I like Obama, but I disagree with him here. We need to invest in renewable energy, not offshore drilling, or "clean coal", which is an oxymoron.

  • @JustPlaneNuts Yeah there is no such thing as clean coal, it's dirty in and dirty out.

Hemp should be brought back for it can take over just about all oil can do, even in making plastics. The only reason it was outlawed is the plant could do too much good. Look up "Run From the Cure" and see what I mean. But America right now should be making an all out push to have bloom energy boxes in every home bar none. We need to do away with 1900 century technology and end all energy retailers.

  • The only thing that should be taking place is a massive push to Bloom Energy Boxes for every home in America.

  • @h2opower Now that sounds like an energy policy.

  • @AlNouveau Yes, that is a plan I can live with. For it means energy independence for the common man, the little guy. We need to put an end to all the energy retailers so the whole world can live in freedom from their enslaving ways. If we do this, brown outs and power outages will be a thing of the past. But trust me some of us are already working on technology that will do just that, give the common man complete energy independence.

  • I didn't vote for this President, and he's done some really bad things to this country, but I agree with offshore drilling. Hat's off to you mister President, maybe there is hope after all.

  • @DamonRosenthal Waste of time, just a concession to republicans and big oil. Does nothing to address our addiction to oil. Does nothing to curb our massive importing of foreign oil. Another imaginary fix like clean coal. Just another bad decision by Obama. Guy just can't do anything right, but he does give a great speech.

  • @AlNouveau Considering the what this man has had to face in the last year, I think he's doing just fine! I agree with Pablosalaco, he's very balanced. For the jackasses that constantly put this man in a left-wing socialist box, they don't get it. That's why you should vote for an intelligent President who can actually learn and make the best decisions for the country....the other option for President that was available a year ago is frightening....

  • @WKPporgressive Yes he did walk into a terrible situation but unfortunately he's continued the policies that have gotten us to where we currently are. We are still fighting two wars without metrics or plans for ever leaving the middle east. The health care bill they passed is reform in name only. It will never reduce the cost of health care or make it more affordable. As I said his energy policy is a gift to the oil and coal lobbies. I will agree with you one one thing. McCain/Palin was scary.

  • Yeah, this is change we can do without. The oceans are under enough stress already. I hope they seriously thought this through.

  • Apparently this is 0bama's Administrations Definition of " Energy Security and Independence " ---> : Suppress Free-Energy technologies @ ALL costs in order to control the sheepulation FOREVER!!!! ... interesting... to say the least...

  • to all thinking he is a socialist or communist, he is actually the most balance president we've had in a while.

  • to be fair, good fishing around those oil rigs offshore in the gulf

  • Good diving too, but it's not good energy policy. Neither party has any interest in really addressing energy issues. But this is a bad joke and Obama knows it.

  • no such thing as clean, responsible, coal, nuclear and off-shore drilling

however, petroleum availability effects our ability to conduct warfare - need to be able to conquer the world, in case we have to, eh?

  • Yup, you got it. Well said.

  • Fucken war monger.

  • Why is he speaking at Andrews AFB?

  • Energy Security and Independence

Code Words for energy manipulation, artificial shortage (scarcity) and enslavement. Yo fucking Obama. You are continuing half of the problems the Bushtard started! Did you notice or is it too much of a trouble for you?
