Um yeah, like everyone else is saying, this isn't funny. It is supposed to be a sweet story about a tree that would give anything for this boy, and the boy would play with the tree and eat her apples... then the boy goes away, and visits back. The tree gives all it can over time. Her apples to sell, her leaves to do something with (i forgot), her branches to build a house, and her trunk to make a boat. Then when the boy is an old man, the tree has nothing more to offer than a stump to sit on.
