Highly unlikely, Martin Denny is one of the founders of the exotica tiki genre. It started in Hawaii, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Now its rare to hear it here. Sadly.

Actually, most, if not ALL of Denny's influence came from Les Baxter who wrote and arranged most of these songs years before.

I believe Lyman was an off shoot of Denny's band. I think he was in the band earlier, but I could be mistaken.
