all these circular comments below pertaining to hair dont deal with the actual topic of UNITY! again it deals with the shallow peripheral external attributes not how we treat acknowlege each other,i thought u sis were deep and beynd this 8th grade mentally we have real issue affecting our people ,and all we talk about is whos cute whos skin color is this or that damn,take off the ankhs and hand made attire lose the locks cuase ur enternal self dont jive with ur external self as i said before.

its not an external style that defines the true essence of the women cause let me say this ive peeped sis with locks on the arm of white men ,have no allegience to the black people and secondly u cant even past these women on the street and get that knowing look,and to not be on a level beyond talking about the banality of skin complexion amongst themsevles demo there lack of evolving as an conscious women,majority of these conscious sis r phony regarding acknowledgement of other sis for real.

I love him. Like I only know him via documentaries, conferences, lectures, radio, and Youtube, but I'm in love. Officially this is the type of man I want to marry. I won't settle for less. I just hope he's not one of those Julian Bond, Frantz Fanon, WEB DuBois types that secretly pines away for white women...and marries white even though they talk that red, black, and green flag stuff. sigh....one can only hope.

what the sista said about older black women talking about her hair is sooo true. I had a older woman ask me why I have my hair in locks and told me she didn't like it and I should take them out and get a perm. I wasn't offended at all by what she said, I simply knew that it stemmed from self hatred within herself but to be as old as she was, to think like that, and actually say that to me was surprising. I knew right away she had issues. she had to be in her 60s too
