Did you compress this file in any way? For some reason (even in full 1080p), it just doesn't look too HD. A lot of noise, and pixelation. All and all clean edit, just need camcorder with bigger CMOS sensor maybe...
Actually I don't remember if i compressed the video, but the slow motion parts are not very good because the camcorders built-in slo-mo funktion was of a quite poor quality.
@storgaardjensen Gotcha! Actually maybe it's just the program your using... I prefer Final Cut Pro, or even iMovie11 for the more simple HD edits. Good choice by using Sony camcorder though, they have quality product for sure! Keep up the good workj :)
@SIKVIDEOSANDCLTHES this video was made 2 years ago, and a lot has happened since then. Now i'm using a sony NEX 5, and I now use both iMovie and Final Cut for editing. Much better results :)
It's just the combination of fast forward, slow motion and my camcorder in and out of focus... Im using mac and final cut express now - it's much better!

this is what you call HD? I mean, I see some other vids here on youtube that you dont need to press the HD button but it has better quality than this.
yes it is HD, but i'm having problems finding the right compression with corel videostudio to work with youtube, therefore the lack of quality. So if you can give me any advice, be my guest...
I've been using corel pro x2 for a year...I've found, the best compression is, while rendering, use "720x30 for PC". it takes forever to render, but, it's very You Tube friendly!
well done!! now that you have used videostudio for a bit, what are your thoughts? good program? I'm unhappy with powerdirector and am looking for a more elegant solution with multi trim.
Corel Videostudio is very easy to use and quite fast as well. It creates smart proxy files (sample of the original video in low resolution) and those are the one you edit, and whet you create a videofile, it's the original files being used. But the output is not good. When you are using transitions it will often create som lacking in the video, so it will not be so nice to watch. I'm trying out adobe premiere trial as well and .. --->
the output from adobe premiere 7 elements is much better. Smooth transitions, sharp picture after editing. But there are som cons too: its very slow! but it depends on how fast your computer is. My computer is a 2ghz dual core with 4gb ddr2 ram and ATI radeon HD3200 graphic card, so its not totally slow. but avchd files are heavy to handle. My problem when it comes to choosing the program to buy: Fast and easy editing, but bad output, or slow and a little complicated editing, but good output?
if you want easy editing, Corel video studio pro x2 is very good. its more basic editing with a few nice features.
If you want a powerful and more professional program I would suggest adobe premiere 7 elements. Its more difficult to use but the result is so much stronger... it's a powerful program, with nice features...
No problem :) glad to help... finding the the right editing software is pretty hard... especially when it comes to avchd-editing... so i'm not even sure what to do, even though i've had several 30days trails to try out... some of them are badly limited so you'll not get the right impression of the program...
i did a small project on corel last night...MUCH better than powerdirector. the multi trim is not as intuitive but once you get used to it, it's ok. my laptop is not that stout for video editing so adobe may be too much for it. i'll try it and see.
okay. good to hear... Are you editing AVCHD og standard def. video? If its only standard def. I think it doesn't matter wich program to use, however i think corel will be the easiest.
I guess thats just a matter of taste. The raw video footage is just perfect, but i'm having problems finding the right settings when editting, the files...
