Many British singers sound American when they sing because they learned to sing listening to American records. Some Americans sound British because they learned to sing by listening to Brit pop.

My concern is not about wether or not she impresses anyone. I give her props getting up there and doing it, but she's still not a 'stand out' singer with ability to sing strong or complicated music. Like it or not, she is not a great singer and she would not have had an album produced if she were not famous with an immediate fan base and funding. the only music you must be listening to is probably like beyonce and stuff like that...if youd know anything about music you would know that for certain genres in music you dont need a strong voice. if you have noticed: she is doing folk/country music,i never heard country/folk musicians with strong voices and complicated music.

You should probably check out Garth Brook's 'Fresh Horses' album for power and complication in country music. If you don't believe me, try to sing with him note for note on those tracks. I'd also suggest some Roger Miller and Glen Campbell. You must not listen to much older country music. If it's the new stuff you like, dig into Rascal Flatts for power and complicated singing.
