awww the memories. This song makes me think.of a certaon Q dog named MudFoot that was at Benedict College at the time.Every time I saw him he would be humming this song. I was a freshman so little did he know.......well never mind lol ;)
I bought the CD (one of my first in that format) AND the 12 inch version of this remix...I liked both, and played both! Why did I have to like one and not like the other? Answer: I didn't, and I still got to give Mr. Gill some support!!

Out of all the New Edition side projects, this Johnny Gill album might be my favorite. This song; my,my,my; fairweather friend; rub you the right way. Man I miss the early 90's. I'm sure Laura Winslow still wants Steve Urkel to have Johnny sing to her at her house
One of my favorite songs EVER. I so prefer this to the original. I can listen to the beginning alone over and over again!! And Penny Ford was PERFECT for this song!
Hey Johnny!!! Brotha just listen to me, you NEED to get a new album out!! you NEED to get with BabyFace to produce your hits!! Get Lionel on your album, stevie Wonder, Boys II Men, Get Santan, get all them great artist... Man i don't need to be telling you this come on now! We love your voice, we love all your stuff, but we need more brotha, we need this old school R&B back into our lives, if you can't do it, no one will...time is too short, i need some more Johnny Gill tunes PLEASE!!!
4 real! I totally agree. You definitely have a good sense for music. The background and her voice made the song so much better. I will never forget travelling cross-country and gradually waking up to this tune blaring out of the bus radio. Momentarily some passengers were doing a dancing down the aisle. I like this version.
I thought it was Karen White doing the background vocals. I have the 12" of this hidden away somewhere. When I get a chance I will check, but Karen White is ringing lots of bells. It even sounds like her and she used to do most of his backing in those days cos she was married to Terry Lewis.
No this was Penny Ford doing the background vocals. She used to sing back up for Chaka Khan then went solo. She did a remake of Aretha Franklin's "daydreamin" back in '92. She has a nice voice, her video is on here, check it out.
got my copy up, i think the actual length of this one is about 9mins long in full, but' i believe everybody should have a Johnny Gill playlist , sorry. :)
well well.. i actually saw him perform this REMIX version on Soul Train and that show with...Nia peeble on THE SAME DAY and he had the SAME SUIT on as well(lol) yeah this version was hot ibn the clubs in ATL i have the 12' to thius as well as the cd single too pump it still...says uzipolo-king of decatur
Jeez!! this was the days were you could listen to good music, sex was so subtle and so in your face and raw like today. Jeez, this was a hot song, even we all knew what he was talking about. Loved the music, the voice, the theme, everything. This is one of my favorite, dance to it like crazy in 1990. Good days, thank you johnny!!
