Out of all the New Edition side projects, this Johnny Gill album might be my favorite. This song; my,my,my; fairweather friend; rub you the right way. Man I miss the early 90's. I'm sure Laura Winslow still wants Steve Urkel to have Johnny sing to her at her house

4 real! I totally agree. You definitely have a good sense for music. The background and her voice made the song so much better. I will never forget travelling cross-country and gradually waking up to this tune blaring out of the bus radio. Momentarily some passengers were doing a dancing down the aisle. I like this version.

I thought it was Karen White doing the background vocals. I have the 12" of this hidden away somewhere. When I get a chance I will check, but Karen White is ringing lots of bells. It even sounds like her and she used to do most of his backing in those days cos she was married to Terry Lewis.

No this was Penny Ford doing the background vocals. She used to sing back up for Chaka Khan then went solo. She did a remake of Aretha Franklin's "daydreamin" back in '92. She has a nice voice, her video is on here, check it out.
