could you please explain how to solve the sides after you get the first 2 done. ive done the white, yellow, and green side, but i cant figure out how to get the other sides done without botching the finished sides
tilt the cube so that yellow and white are on the left and right sides... Then you can get the rest of the sides by moving the middle layers, and the U and F sides. Once you're green side is done, every move you do that disturbs it has to have a move that restores it. It's the same as when you make the white and yellow. It's easy, you just have to be careful.
it's a new retooled version of the profeser and is much better out of the box but isn't as good in the long run because the old ones had a sturdier but looser mechanism
the vcube five is so awesome. My rubik's brand broke, so i got the vcube without knowing about cubesmith. i might order another piece to replace the broken one, but if i do i wouldn't really ever use the rubik's brand anymore
Oh well, i bought an eastsheen when i found out they had screws. Since I heard that rubiks 5x5s become loose over time, I decided to get an eastsheen ('cause of the adjustable tension)
Man...that's sad news because its been 1 week since I got my eastsheen 5x5 and I'm already getting around 3.5 minutes averages...oh well. I don't feel like spending money on a rubik's 'cause I would need tiles, and the V-cube costs a bomb :(. Anyway I guess I love my eastsheen :)
hey i tried lubing up my 4x4. it worked, but not as i wanted it. it gets stuck but when it doesnt its smooth as hell. now i wished i handt lubed it. im apprehensive of trying this with my 5x5 since it cost me $30. is it worth it? i use industrial silicon.
I'll go out on a limb and assume you're talking about RUBIK'S brand cubes.
Well... the trouble with Rubik's 4x4s is that once they are loose, they are too loose. Mine locks up a lot too, but it is very smooth. Still it's slow to solve with.
Rubik's 5x5s, on the other hand, don't lock up! They're awesome, but in order to make them awesome they need lube and a lot of breaking in. It can take a long time to break in a Rubik's 5x5, but lube deffinitely won't hurt it.
Not much to say. It sucked balls until I left it on my shelf for a year. Most people don't know this, but springs loosen up on their own. A tight puzzle usually breaks itself in just sitting there.
It's actually the one-quarter frame. Apparently, YouTube got annoyed by people putting unrelated pictures in the center frame to get tons of views on crappy videos. As a result, they randomize where they pick the center frame from to some degree.
I didn't want to have a 5 second long center frame like I did on the BLD tutorial, so I thought I'd take a gamble with the 1/4 frame. It worked! :)
why not get a shengshou?

is your 5x5 retooled? the one where the 2nd layer can turn by itself? and does your rubiks 5x5 corners twist? please answer all questions.
cubedrummer19 3 years ago
No, No, and No. =)
I heard the re-tooled ones are really sweet. I am going to buy one soon, but I don't know how to tell the difference when they are in the box.

okay, cant wait for your review :)

cubedrummer19 3 years ago
When it comes to 5x5s, you can't really go wrong. They are all pretty good.
When you start pulling wicked 3 minute times though, you might consider trying other brands.

So most of it is pretty intuative like the 4x4?
AtomicWaffleButt 3 years ago
depends how smart you are :)
if you can do a 4x4, you can figgure out a 5x5 pretty easy... parity is a big pain if you don't know the algos though.
