Although this game is pretty good, i do agree that it could be better with a free-roam ability in the game, giving much more to do than to just go through the storyline and save mankind so many times that you can actually act out the parts that happen, but some of the stuff in the game such as scrambling to find another filter off of a dead body before you suffocate really gave me quite a thrill, and putting that with the ability to travel where you want to would add to the survival portion.

@JohannBrigtsenNOR Well, while i've read some stuff about the sequel; Metro Last Light, and i heard they're going to put some more interactive elements in the world, but that certainly would be an interesting concept, like to go through the free-roam portion to get gear, ammo and weapons to sort of load up for a possibly difficult mission later on in story mode.

I played this on 360. Good game, but linear and kind of short. Really needs something like a singleplayer survival mode, at least.

@Blasted9001 I agree. Way too short. And a survival mode would be great. Kind of like an underground version of Fallout. You can roam the tunnels and find new gear and ammo and fight mutants. Random encounters would be fun too. There was a lot of potential with this game. I liked it, but it could have and should have been a lot more. Like buying gear felt a bit... Well, it wasn't like you could go back to your favourite shop and get the toy you'd been saving up for due to the linearity.

Thanks for the upload. Metro 2033 is a good game. It has a few bugs in it, but the overall experience of the game play is still very good. I notice that there is a lot of stations on the map of the metro, but the player cannot explore them all. I hope that in Metro 2033 Last Light, the players would be allow to do so.

sure did you ever play s.t.a.l.k.e.r.? its kinda like that.. it's more like a realism-based shooter so you have to be pretty careful the whole time you can't (usually) just spray and pray. you fight monsters and humans.. the human ai is pretty crafty; they WILL try to flank you in a fight. they also wear armor so shooting them in the head or neck (under the helmet but above the vest) is the most effective.  mostly its just a good fps with a good story and survival-horror elements thrown in.

@233jester yeah you're right they're very different but the gun play felt very similar to me.. not "easy" like your typical fps.. but it's more satisfying once you get the hang of it. metro is more linear and story driven; stalker is really open. the greatest thing about metro though is all the stuff that makes it more immersive; like your gas mask getting cracked and having to manage your filters.. and charging your flashlight and nightvision. seems kinda challenging but really worth it imo

@itzdagamer (look above for the first part of my comment) ..there's a lot of great weapons you can upgrade to and you have a bunch of parts where you can trade and look around at different communities/stations so it's not all just action. really beautiful graphics and art style (better on pc but you gotta have a decent graphics card to run it). the monsters are fast and fluid not all weird like in fallout 3. you can play it stealthy or run-and-gun but sometimes stealthy is easier.

@sewershitmosh Definetely, you must buy it, especially if you read the book. It has an excellent narrative and atmosphere, combined with stealth and survival horror elements, and the enemies are very intelligent. The only cons I find is that the graphics aren't very impressive, but that doesn't reflect on game experience.

@sewershitmosh Yes, there are mutants, like in the book, but they are not the main characters of the game or the book. This is more about the drama of the survival of the human race in a post-nuclear Moscow. There are different "factions" around the Metro, and when I talk about stealth, I mean you will have to infitrate in enemy bases, etc. And, yes, this is most a stand-alone game, but there are secondary characters that help the development of the story.

This game is a cinematic masterpiece. My gripes are few but include not being able to save where you want (as per STALKER) and derp'd shotguns (can't aim with proper sights + too much spread). I do thoroughly enjoy mowing down commies, Nazis, and hideous mutant freaks with a belt-fed shotgun and a VSV. And the revolver as a sidearm adds a nice kauboy sense of panache (especially the cavalry carbine version). And throwing sticky grenades on "Ridleys" is always fun.

The game looks immense. Ive got it but i cant play it : ( whenever i try to play it my screen goes blank with the message "analog out of range" It does it with Just cause 2 as well. But at least i got to play that at least once before it started doing it. Im not sure if its a connection but both games are attached to steam. I think this problem is somthing to do with my monitor size, even though its pretty big. I would get a new one but surely there must be a cheaper workaround?

@Thebudgeismetal sounds like the game is trying to go to a higher resolution than your monitor can handle and the game has that res saved as the default somewhere. if there is a "safe mode" for the game, try that. if not try deleting everything, the game files, search the registry and delete anything related to the game there as well. then reinstall and it might work.
