Now I am not a fan of straddling game shows (though there are many exceptions including the ones previously mentioned), so here's what I would've done: Have a point system like Everybody's talking, six people (stars & civilians) talking about a subject with points taken off after each person video was shown, play two rounds with the highest scoring player winning the game.
Was the dollar amount superimposed below the video screen during gameplay? When the stars and Geoff were introduced at the opening, I never saw any visible electronic readout there. That always befuddled me.
I remembered this song back in 1973, on CBS Television. The one Contestant that really stuck out in this show was a Man named Alan, who really dominated in this Game Show, to the tune of $13,000.
Does anybody remember Alan? Or who I am talking about?
Geoff knows a good game show when he sees it - he even told Bob Stewart when Jackpot was retooled that the new general knowledge format wouldn't work - he was right again.
I saw this show on the air. This was March 26, 1973 - a big day for TV, as not only this show premiered, but also "Baffle", "The $10,000 Pyramid" and a new soap opera, "The Young and the Restless".
Yes. Although I feel that Geoff Edwards could host "Child's Play" like he did back in "Hollywood Talking". On a side note, he never hosted or appeared as a celebrity in a game show from Mark Goodson/Bill Todman Productions.
I agree; like the podiums, and the large screen that doubles as the door. (Thought the backdrops behind Geoff and the contestants were a little plain, though; at least put SOMETHING there!)
The format itself? Meh. Everybody's Talking did the same concept much better.
I take it that the last show doesn't exist. Would anyone by any chance remember what happened on that one?

The goal of $200 doesn't really seem fair. I expected games to end so quickly on shows like The Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough, Bullseye, among others.

Match Game Pre Empted this Game Show!

@Jiltedin2007 No, no, it replaced this game show.

@AdamNedeff You're right. Unless you want to believe in "permanent preemptions," lol. ;-)

Geoff once told me in email that he told Jack that this format would not work out. Turns out he was right, it only lasted 13 weeks.

The 3 things I always remembered about this show was the theme music, the set, and Geoff Edwards, whom I hope is still alive. Always one of my faves.

Geoff is very much alive. Google "Geoff Edwards on Cruising" and the first result will be his blog.

He appeared on GSN Live summer 2008.

this is somewhat an adut version of "Child's Play" just using actors instead of kids.

I think he did work for Goodson at one point, though, albeit on a local level, California's Big Spin.

That introduction of the celebrities made me dizzy.

It is sappy looking for the 1973 and good debut of what was to come for Geoff!
