However, had this been an abusive bloke would you have felt the same? I think part of the shock is that she is a woman, and the reaction is more unexpected. But I think that shows just how deep seated prejudices against cyclists are. In that sense I think this is an important video.

As motorists get more insecure, more of them will lash out. Which makes things rough for cyclists, until the confidence of the motorholics falls apart, at which point things get better for cyclists, and quite quickly.
