That we aren't definable in a beer commercial, that we range from 'greasy spoon diners' to 'healthy living cafes' That we're conscious of a generation beyond our own and preservation. For those who only just discovered Shane, this is someone who has been doing slam poetry for over a decade. In 2000 he became the first Canadian to win the Individual Championship title at the National Poetry Slam. I feel incredibly privileged to have seen him live on a number of occasions years ago and he will rock your socks every single time.

Be sure to hunt down his other works. They are well worth it.

The "Rocket" was Number 9 (which he also referred to) Maurice Richard...the greatest hockey player until Gretszky came along...then there was the "Pocket Rocket"...Henri Richard' (Maurice's brother who was equally famous). And the number "99" was for Gretszky.
