And he's not the first celebrity to want to pay her hush money, that was mainly a tactic to save his marriage and endorsements, stop being so dense. As for witnesses seeing her crying, that was all bull shit and has happened countless of times with a girl crying foul to get what she wants. If some woman accused me of rape, I certainly wouldn't pay her anything, and I myself would file a defamation of character lawsuit IMMEDIATELY! Kobe didn't because he was GUILTY.

He also has a wife and a daughter, why go through a much publized trial, the tabloids, and risk even possibly going to jail! You're dumb. Look what happened when it all came out. He lost endorsements, almost lost his marriage, and was booed/called rapist in every city he goes too.

Robert Blake, OJ, R Kelly, all went to trial, and all were found not guilty. Did Ben Rothlisburger pay off either of his accusers? No. Did he pay off either victim? No. He may or may not be guilty, and he will get the same taunts at opposing stadiums as Kobe did when he returns. But he didn't try to silence the women.

The defense's claims that there was a 3rd man's semen was never confirmed, but was put into the media by anonymous sources working for the defense to discredit the accuser. The oldest trick in the book is to bring up a woman's past sexual history to make her look slutty.
Also, Kobe gave details of the encounter himself to police, so he didnt pay her not to tell the story!
