exclent job playing the drums hard !! with confident , amazing skills Etc .This helps me learn more bout the drums the varations ... it makes me feel easy the way he played hard and fast ..
Good intro to tabla. When they categorize types of rhythms, all of our 4/4 and 2/4 patterns fall inside on fraction of a two-dozenth of what they do. Our rhythms are simple minded in comparison. When the Bakers, out of Yale's Institute for Sacred Music, got involved with Indian music, they recorded pieces as complex as anything from Mozart or Bach -- all of which had been passed down for centuries. Amazing stuff. Worth studying for any jazz musician.
while this music is quite advanced...the north indian music system that tabla are a part of is no where near as advanced as the south indian music system
It matters on what you're focusing on. The Tabla is largely focused on accompaniment, and solo are a secondary focus. The system is quite complicated, as I have never heard carnatic singing in a taal like Jhaptaal or Deepchandi. This is a short solo - when you get to advanced levels there is more freedom then carnatic as the singers have more styles from more gharanas, and a lerger variety of raagas and composition styles (like Dhrupad or Khyal).
no, he isn't Sri Lankan. He is from Pune. I actually learnt Tabla from Uday when he lived in Edmonton. Possibly the most talented teacher I have ever had.
some did learn it. I found out about tabla drums because of "tool" danny carey is their drummer and did a pretty good job on a song called "right in two". I know its been 2 months but you may want to check it out
i saw him play a concert in poland with behemoth. they did a drum off, all i can say is wow. it was pretty close, in terms of hand speed, i think he beats out inferno. rock on dude!
Holy fucken relax, u uptight moron I'm an indian of another kind, ya IDIOT. And what the hell is a donkey face bitch Is that a cross between a donkey and your mother?????LOL

@blues4never nothing rocks like 4/4 though though other time signatures are better at setting different types of moods
