@xKaiRagex No you shouldn't get banned but that doesn’t mean you won’t. Nothing is 100% safe, anytime you mod/hack your system you run a risk. Make sure all your games are stealth patched keep up with the forums (read) and update your console when new updates are released and you should be fine.

If I do this can I put my DVD drive in another Xbox 360? My mother board took a dump and I am getting a new one but it does not have a DVD drive so I’m thinking that I can put my old DVD drive on the new motherboard or do I need I new DVD key and how do I get it if I do need it. Thanks

I really like this video it is a great walk through. I do have one question why do you have the connectivity kit is it just for power to the drive or do I need to buy the add-on?

@1Bakke1 The Kit does not power the drive, your power supply in your pc will be used as power. If your Pc has a weak power supply then you should get an external 5v power supply. How can you tell? When you turn your Kit off and on if the computer dims or starts to act sluggish then you should look into the external power supply. This can cause in freezing or bricking of the Xbox Dvd drive.

Thanks The opening the disk drive halfway thing totally proved to be the difference for me. came to your video after being stuck after pressing BenQ unlock. for some reason crackin that bad boy open halfway put me in the game

thanks mate gr8 tutorial flashed my benq with no problem for those that have a problem with drive not being dtected or stuff like that get the via 6421 fixes most problems and is only 7 quid well worth it

@ThisIzVence1 You can only get banned if you don't stealth patch the games. If you don't want to get banned, don't play early releases of games unless u have an xbox 360 that is for offline use and it is flashed :D

For some damn reason when I flashed my Xbox 360 to LT iXtreme and tried playing a game, it didn't work. Then I tried playing regular bought games, which didn't work either. Now I can't play anything. I've tried doing it twice but still both times failed. I am on a Windows 7, 32 bit.

@Stevejim911 Thanks for the positive feedback and while there has been no official word i'm sure new Ixtreme firmware for Hitachi's is soon to be released. When the ban wave hits just stay offline.

@adamruddockshrek How do we tell? A lot of people speculate but generally it happens around big releases and again during dashboard updates in November. I would be more careful around these times or stay offline. You cant avoid an update so if its meant to be it will catch up with you. And again none of what I'm saying is written in stone and I'm only speaking from my own experiences in the modding scene.

If you are not using a connectivity kit and are using a VIA ports and are not seeing it. Make sure you select VIA ports only and change the I/O Port until it recognizes the VIA port you have. I flashed mine yesterday using this method.

Yes, you can flash the drive from stock or you can do an upgrade. Either way is ok.

lol details please, other wise noone can help you; I have win7 and I can flash just fine. If any programs you use to flash start to give you trouble just right click them, properties, and run in compatibility mode for win xp sp3 and they will run smooth; if you are having trouble locating the drive then thats a diff story

No, my Xbox was on 1.6. and then i flashed it to LT. You can flash from stock or an older firmware.

oh and thanks for the great vid, you always deliver the best vid tutorials for flashing out there that I have seen so far, and for me being a first timer flashing my benq this video was extremely, extremely easy to understand. Now if I could only get a working ck3 =[ i bought mine a couple of months ago and i contacted them to see if they could replace my defective unit but they assure me it is an error on my part, but i dont see how hard it is to plug in the damn thing and turn it on =[

well when I turn on the ck3 the light turns on and thats about it, and yes i have checked and double checked to make sure my drivers installed correctly, and jungle flasher even recognizes my drive, i guess i am going to have to open the tray by some other means =[

so the problem is only that you can't open the tray in order to get it into vendor mode? You know if your dvd drive is not already hacked you don't need to do the "half tray open" trick. If your dvd drive is hacked and you just want to update it then you will need to do that. I do believe there is a way to do it without the ck3 (using the xbox to power the drive). Benq's can be fully hacked without the ck3 at all, although it is harder.

Yeah its not that hard to connect I'm siding with you. It seems as if many of these online stores are in Canada and its really hard to get them to take back defective product. Although I don't like to I think you would be better off not using the kit at all and using the Xbox to power the drive. Ben Q's are the easiest drives to flash usually.

yeah thats def true, its more complicated to DL a game and write it to a disc than it is to flash the benq itself lol but i guess we can put that rumor to the test to see if i get banned before you guys because my xbox knew it didnt have the drive in it =]

hey still having probs with my ck3 and it not ejecting my benq tray, are you sure a 5v molex cable is enough to power it or is it supposed to be a 12v?
