There is a huge misunderstanding of evolution and it is mistaken for a gradual metamorphosis from monkey to ape to Neanderthal to modern Homo sapiens as a single linear progress . And to be honest I thought that also when i was shown the diagram of just that very description . Then I turned 12 .
I certainly think a lot more education and clarification needs to be introduced into schools on the subject of evolution , perhaps the Origin of Species would be a good starting point ?

There is a huge misunderstanding of evolution and it is mistaken for a gradual metamorphosis from monkey to ape to Neanderthal to modern Homo sapiens as a single linear progress . And to be honest I thought that also when i was shown the diagram of just that very description . Then I turned 12 .
I certainly think a lot more education and clarification needs to be introduced into schools on the subject of evolution , perhaps the Origin of Species would be a good starting point ?

I don't think so. It's old, dated, REALLY hard to read. It is the central premiss of all modern biology. I think just having it as a basic part of elementary science educations. The classical greeks used to believe in Zeus as the king of gods, the father of all men, who rule Mount Olympus and whose Will determined all things. It was 'greek religion' not 'mythology' for them.
Today we dismiss their beliefs, as we rightfully should. The reason we do this is because there is no evidence to support any of the ancient beliefs, and it is thus irrational to do so.
Muslims, Christians etc make the same irrational mistake as the greeks of old did. It is all mythology.

People should make sure they understand what they are discussing before they enter into debate.
