@porpoisefathom It's Aluminum. Looks like lead but a hell of a lot lighter. And you don't want to lead in a 2000F furnace because it will vaporize it. I got enough brain damage as it is. :)
careful with that block paving. They can trap moisture in their structure, spill some molten metal and they might go boom as the water vaporises, sending out shards that can easily take out peoples eyes or worse.
@KEF791 Yeah, really pleased with the outcome. And more smiles today if we can get our new Grizzly 12x36 lathe moved into the shop. Keep making those videos. I need all the help I can get. :)
@flyingchimp99 Too soon to tell, but of my takes were nearly empty to start. But a lot less than my old furnace that is half the size. Using insulating firebrick instead of castable refactory cuts the heat up time and using forced air instead of propane only increased the flame. ...and were not using any oil or diesel yet. We're very happy with it!
Doug- forgive my lack observation on this but is that lead- or steel? and if lead- im assuming ballst?

Other than that looks good.

Nice to see the weather have changed there, winter is over?

@Pudersepp If it is, then we never really had one unless a 1/4" of snow counts. No complaints here :)

How long does that one tank of propane last? Cuz I saw a lot of flames in that furnace!!!
