Fuck it man!!!!!!you guys did great......dude dont worry bout the lead.....that is a tough lead and im sure your nerves were crankin....the more ya play it live the more comfortable youll get......great job guys.....all ya need is a great dave voice and ya got it....hats off to the chap singing....did the best ya could bro...absolutely no shame there....good job.......
@DxMetalheadGamerxD Thanks, but as the description says... the singer was simply a friend who filled in for us so we could actually play this show. He did his best. It isn't easy trying to sing like Mustaine, especially 80's/early 90's era Mustaine.
oh i see hey dude what settings would u recommend for me am using the gsp1101 digitech and i dont know were to put the mid, gain, treble, and bass knobs at what would u guys recommend to get a mustaine sound am also using a plexi pre amp
@MegadethDave666 It's hard to say without sitting in front of the set up and turning the knobs you know?
Basically, you don't want to scoop your mids. I generally keep mine around noon or 1 o'clock. Not too much bass, Dave's sound is more crunch than the modern day low end "boom" you typically hear.
Other than that, don't use too much gain. If you over do it you lose a lot of definition in the riffing. Just turns into a buzzsaw. "Just enough" is usually ideal.
@bdamotta damn its sounds great lol it sounded better than i thought it would i gotta recover holy wars again lol right now am working on daves solo u dont find it that hard right??
@MegadethDave666 It's gotten easier, but it's still tough to pull off. Especially if my fingers aren't warmed up a bit. I mostly improvise the first half of it, when he starts doing the really fast picking part towards the end and then the chromatic climb or whatever, then I try to play it as close to the cd as I can. Gets tricky picking that fast and hitting the note on the G string (lulz) cleanly and consistently.
@bdamotta oh ok after u hit the open string (its half way on the solo) do u hit 5 8 5 8 5 on the E string thats what ultimate guitar is telling me what do u hit cause when i play it it doesnt sound right to me. i trying playing it as correctly as possible btw
@MegadethDave666 I think I know the part you're talking about. I just improvise it. I do a sorta hammer-on from and open E to the 5th fret and repeat it a couple of times before the next run.
@MegadethDave666 The original footage was very dark and in order to bring out any picture it had to be tweaked, considerably. It also got even worse after it was uploaded.
The other videos are better quality but I didn't re-post this one or Five Magics since there was already some discussion going on.
Please keep in mind, Gavin (singer) is a guitar player who filled in to help us out at the very last minute. He had 2 days to prepare for this. Songs like this are tough for anyone to sing as the vocal register is very high. This was also the last song of our set so he was pretty spent.
you are great but the singer sucks!!
