This is AWESOME. I got chills down my spine. Look at the prisioners faces. This man was amazing, and this is probably one of the best live recordings EVER.
Everytime I pray lately, the sun starts to shine, even on the cloudiest days, It will break through instantly and shine on me. I'm not saying the sun is god at ALL, but God is just showing me he can hear me. So manypeople healed lately!!!!!!!
Could it be that "unbelievers" are moved by the Spirit from hearing this song, but they give credit to Johnny? Like when I prayed for my dad and I asked him if he felt the Spirit? He was grinning ear to ear, and said "I felt YOUR love!" hahahha.
You can't mock GOD and get away it :-) what's done in the dark will be brought to the light....he rode on a pale horse and hell followed with him. I would rather make heaven by a mile and miss it by an inch...you know you don't have to defend a caged lion (the holy bible) all you have to do is let it lose.
Glad I met him, shook his hand and took a photo with him when he performed in Singapore, although he is gone, he lives in the lives in the hearts of millions of people worldwide!
@MrRealdealjung you close-minded asshole. there are hundreds of religions in the world, and just because he doesn't believe in Christ, he is an athiest? go back to your cult, and tell them to drink the punch
Johnny Cash had power over an audience that would be hard to describe unless one had seen it for themselves. When Cash presided over an audience, people would stare in awe of the man. Cowboy Jack Clement once said "ol' Cash could tell you to go to hell, and you'd be excited about the trip"!
looking at all the men listening to this, with there 1000 yard stares, i think you get a sense that from looking at them, regardless of the crimes they committed, for the hour that the concert took place there souls were free
@IncensePeppermints68 Oh so you're a dumb liberal white apologist who thinks white people owe every race of the world something, right? You justify blacks shooting whites by saying we deserve it.....you're an idiot, I hope you get ass raped by one of them and you learn the lesson. You're probably also a dumb wigger lmao everyone hates wiggers. You're the joke of all your black friends, eminem.
They loved Johnny Cash and his inspiration while in prison. He cared enough to come there to sing and worship and they were dumbfounded by that. JC was a saint.
Grape juice,"oinos" is the wine that Jesus made at the marriage feast, as those guests, the"men of distinction"(Gen 9:20-27)and the wedding crashers of those days(Prv 20:1)were "well drunk". Jesus,in Habakkuk 2:15 "Woe to him who gives his neighbor intoxicating drink." We need to be careful not to justify on anothers lie, when clearly what was given here was the first "fruit of the vine"(Matthew 26:29), found in the cluster of the vine(Isa65:8)and called thepure blood ofthegrape(Deu32:14)
My friend your so worried about what people are going to interpret your missing the main point of delivering the Gospel to the men..... Be careful of the ways of the Pharisees.
@Svenskacowpoika Proverbs 31:6 and Spirits that fill the human vessels, these consumed make more merry than that of a strong drink. There are fruits grown above ground whom all might see. And there are potatoes grown below the ground in clusters that make a stronger drink than wine that looks more like water. A spiritual process of distillation produces stronger spirits than that of a process of fermentation. An anethesiaologist once told me "It will be like a double martini with a twist".
Johnny Cash felt for the prisoner because they are human as we all are and most upon incarceration finally come to God or at least come to realizing their downfalls yet they're locked up so it makes them think and maybe even become holyer in the fact they can do almost nothing else but get right with God, which is great because thats all we all have to do before we die. We may not be locked up but we're all sinners and we all must be saved or come short of the glory of God.
I couldn't agree more!!! God loves us all - sinners and saints alike - and He had to be smiling down as Johnny shared his faith with the men who needed to hear that uplifting message so. Can you imagine how magical that day had to be for the inmates of San Quentin? What a wonderful gift!!!!
True gospel! Set the captive's free Johnny was a great man Elvis , Jerry lee and Carl perkins what a force they made you cant know anything about music without knowing them my they all RIP thank's for this song 10 stars
Beautiful really...what really gets me is the looks on the prisoners faces...very touching ....I'm sure they were thinking about the man that turned the water into wine!
Hats off to Johnny for being able to pull this off. Most country singers today would have absolutely no credibility in a forum like this. And to preach the Gospel in a plain, un-preachy style - wow - it is awe-inspiring, really. He had everyone's attention and I can bet that many silent prayers were said after the cell doors were shut that night. A very inspiring clip. Thanks for sharing.
There are many good ministries in prison, and many prisoners come to Christ there. When a person is in Christ, HE IS A NEW CREATION. OLD THINGS ARE PAST AWAY. You who judge those who have become new creations, you will be judged. As God forgives, so must we.
Because your understanding the despair of these men who are incarcerated or starting to understand and when the video stops and you look around at your life and see what is in front of you and see endless freedom and your material things and family, that's when it hits you that these men don't have any of that. That is what this video does for me,especially since I'm a catholic and realize what these stories and songs mean to the common religious man.
This brings tears to my eyes because the song is about the Lord God, and that in spite of all his miracles her was rejected by the religious priests of that time. The Word was God, and was made flesh to cover our sins. The final sacrificial lamb. Beautiful.
s/q anniversary today. rest in peace Johnny
