cavitation is when u get collapsing vacuum spaces within a liquid and this erodes metal, but its nothing to do with antifreeze like u said.
water corrodes cylinder walls u add anti freeze to slow or stop corrosion.
A typical example of cavitation is on a boats propeller when the boat is at full power but not moving forward, or on a vacuum pump where the inlet is blocked, the fluid hammer effect eats metal away, very unlikely to happen inside an engine.
