my reading has improved dramatically. i used to read 150wpm, and now i read 600wpm. im retaining 12% more info, too.

im not endorsing a product, as i didnt use one. i think its just about training your eyes. when reading, i look at the centre of the text and read the whole line. thats a good start.

soon you'll find you can do 2,3,4 lines. practice for half an hour a day and you'll soon reap the benefits.

speed reading has improved my grades. it angers me that this wasnt taught in school.

@qwerty1234569479 Yeah but it's really not that fast. remember that means he's reading equivilant of 20 words per second, and as a speed reader he may only be reading half of those words. If you can speed read, then time yourself reading a page for 10 seconds. once you're done, found the amount of words you just read, and divide by 10. That's your WPS( or X 60 = WPM) number! I just got 6 words per second and I am nowhere near a speed reader

Actually, there is an even faster method of reading called "diagonal" but it's very hard to learn. It allows you to read with maxium speed at 60000 signs per minute (world record) or a whole page in 3 seconds.

The down part of speedreading is that when you try to read outloud, your brain automatically changes all the word and leave out subjects. The only reason that I gave up speedreading.. in grade 3. When you mouth words, you actually read exactly whats there. So decide. Speed read or read outloud? Because you can only do one. Either your brain reads quickly or reads each word..

It's not reading, it's scanning the pages. A lot of the details are missed and only the basic message absorbed, so the technique only works to a certain point and it depends on what the subject matter is.
