At the end of Buu saga when Fat Buu was inside Kid Buu, his power was not affected, he just was not able to attack Satan, cause he was friends with Fat Buu, so he got blocked, but his power was not weakened. If kid buu absorb s fat buu -> minus + plus is zero like gogeta said, it evens itself out, Uub + Buu = good + good = kinda fusion result

In DbGT: Buu gets blown up once, and basically dies. Or becomes so close to death he needs to fuse to live kind of like Nail.
