Mike, powerful and earth moving is right. The sound travels from bow to strings to endpin, across the floor and up into my feet. What amazes me most is how EASY Volkan's playing looks. So smooth!!

I don't know the answer to "Is Poucha Dass played in standard tuning?"

But I do know that François Rabbath is for the natural sound of the bass and in an interview said he despises solo tuning.

I loved your performance, I'm the only high school - aged bassist in my entire county, so I'm usually forced into joining a lot of orchestras. Most of the time I see it as a chore, but seeing this performance has shed a new light on the bass for me. I've only been playing for about 5 years now. I hope I can play as well as you, one day.
