Mike, powerful and earth moving is right. The sound travels from bow to strings to endpin, across the floor and up into my feet. What amazes me most is how EASY Volkan's playing looks. So smooth!!
I loved your performance, I'm the only high school - aged bassist in my entire county, so I'm usually forced into joining a lot of orchestras. Most of the time I see it as a chore, but seeing this performance has shed a new light on the bass for me. I've only been playing for about 5 years now. I hope I can play as well as you, one day.
AMAZING!!! You are the best bassist there is!!!! This is why i consider you one of my idols when it comes to the double bass!

Volkan, this was mesmerising! Thanks for posting it. I was wondering if it is possible to play this piece in fifths tuning as well as fourths?

Thank you for your kind comments. Though, I am not sure what you mean by "tab"?
VolkanOrhon 3 years ago
I am pretty sure dioniduck means... if there is a "score" in paper sheet, for this particular performance of "poucha dass"!

wow this is really amazing
i have never seen the sheet music to this
but is this done in standard tuning?
nfblackburn13 4 years ago
I don't know the answer to "Is Poucha Dass played in standard tuning?"
But I do know that François Rabbath is for the natural sound of the bass and in an interview said he despises solo tuning.
