Hey my mixer's volume thing isn't moving basically It's not recognizing any sound coming in...maybe it's the cable I'm using? I bought a guitar/USB cable with cakewalk LE disk and I wanted to try this Cubase instead so I figured I'd try the cable from the cakewalk but it's not getting any sound into the program....maybe it's a setting I need to fix in the computer or the program or simply can't use this cable. Someone please help thanks!
SOMEONE knows how to export WITH the effects of GUITAR RIG/AMPLITUBE etc ? i only hear the clean sound in the export files ,if i reproduce them IN CUBASE it´s ok but not as a wav archive when is exported
Hey what's up man? Im currently using Cubase 5 for recording. On my stereo out bus I use Izotope for mastering the song. Now here is the problem, when I listen to the mix inside Cubase it sounds one way, then when I export the project and I play it outside Cubase, it sounds different! (loudness is different, reverb, etc) Do you have any idea whay am I doing wrong?
When i try to export my audio, it just says "An error occurred during the export!" i wish it specified what the error was so maybe i could fix it but it doesn't, does anybody know what could be causing it or how to fix it?? PLEASE HELP.

@SimPotts I don't know why he asked that, I have the Cubase LE 5 on windows 7 32 bit. and it is the same.. maybe a few buttons that you have to click are placed in other positions, but you can clearly locate them anyway, the markings on them are the same. @DiggingUpMedusa someone could just turn guitar cable into adapter(6.3 to 3.5)and connect into MIC or LINE-IN inputs.But instead of that you can also use external audiocards(mine is Line 6 GX)which are connecting via usb without any adapters and other crap,but costs much more than adapter things.

@VitaminWhite1 First select the track by clicking it once. Place your mouse over the icon on the extreme left side and left click-select stereo-right or left whichever connects the mic.
I use le 4 with my digitech rp255 and can only record on the four stereo tracks, it wont let me record on the mono tracks for some reason. Other than that seems to work fairly well.
Im wandering if you can help me. I am encountering a problem where the recording suddenly stop while i record my band rehearsal. When i set it up normaly for new project and select add audio , i wanted to just press record button and keep recording . The idea is to record the session eventhough theres mistake , and edit the whole thing later on. But like i said , it stops recording and showing the message something like ( too many tracks being recorded ). Is there a way to correct this setting.
Found it SIMPLY GREAT that you're actually showing yourself recording, mostly they just tell you to do this then that and that's it. You got yourself a subscriber. Thank you very much.
@st8ter2147 I had the same problem, all you need to do is- in the soft licence service centre there's a column that says my licences below it there's another box which has a really long number type that number into your my stienberg activation space and it gives you another activation code which you type into the licence service centre( the activation code button top left) and that let's you access cubase. Hello, Cubase Le4 came with my Zoom effects pedal. I tried to activate it (i've got an serial code from steinberg for it) with the elicencer Control Center. The problem is that there isn't anything showed that i could activate. Do i need to buy this "USB-elicencer key dongle" to activate Cubase Le4 or is this thing only to transport an code from one pc to another?

Hi SimPotts, i followed your instructional video and i also can see that when you record your individual tracks only shows the music vibrations(the white stuff) on one line of the track. Which is also the same as mine, but when i play back the sound only comes out from one speaker. And also when i tried to export , the software tells me to set the left and right locators? Sounds like you have recorded the left or right channel of a stereo input track. Try recording the track in Mono only. This should then come out of both speakers.
I connect my guitar via Digitech RP 355 to the USB port of my pc, run the programm, but if in want to select the inputs and outputs theres only Digitech RP 355 MIDI to choose and so it cannot record ..help ? i also tried things in skype but everything works there so theres no connection issue

@Andy24deth Please check the sound output settings in the device setup menu and also ensure that the sound volume in windows is enabled, not muted and the slider is all the way up.

@richpickins haven't used resaon, but either export a wave file from reason and import that into cubase then add a vocal, or playback the reason recording and record the audio into cubase thru the sound card and add vocal. If you known how to do it, you could export the midi files from reason and import them into cubase.
@SimPotts Where are the distortion meters located at? and i cant get playback also how can i do a cover and be with the song at the same time. Isn't there like a metronome that clicks and you won't record unless you play?
@metalowns02 See video above and at 1.15 there is a red record button. To the right of the red button is a metronome that says click. Also there are are 2 vertical bars that move when you play. These should not become red or else it is distorting. You can import a wave file or MP3 file into cubse from the file menu-click-import -file.

how do i record with the electric guitar? is it possible to make a drumming track to play to? ive got the guitar attached to the tascam, then the usb from the tascam to my laptop, and then the rca cables attached from the tascam to the amplifier...i think thats how its supposed to be, ive been pressing the record button but no sound is coming out when i playback...whats wrong?
@whiteboiii92 Plug in the electric guitar lead to the line input of the tascam. Record the guitar direct for best quality. If you want to use th amplifier place a micrphone in front of the speaker about 12 inches away and record the amplified guitar sound.
@whiteboiii92 You can construct a drum track in cubase. I'll post the instructions later. Until then search Youtube for instructions on creating drums in cubase.
I ha n electric guitar which plugs into a zoom G2.1u nd it has a usb to the computer how do urecord tht way its still attached the amp to ???. So its basically not using microphones its just directly plugged in
@FURRY1995 Hi Furry. I would plug in the USB cionnection and under device setup in cusbase I am guessing you would see the amp as one of the sound card options. Sleect it as your default soundcard and try recording. Failing that if you have a headphones or line output, connect that to the line/mic input of your PC.
Very helpful, but I have a laptop with windows vista and I'm trying to record with a tascam box and i have cubase set up like yours, i press record, it picks up everything, but I have no audio. It's really frustrating . When i record i get no audio, and when i play it back i get no audio. Any ideas?
@Nightmareee918 Hey Nightmare, nice name. i will setup another video defining the audio card setup. I alsi use the Tascam 122 card. You will need to go into the devices menu and select device setup. Then select ASIo driver to Tascam card. Let me know if this solves it or not.
@Nightmareee918 Not dumb question. Just record the track in Mono and It will play back through both channels. Alternatively just splt the signal input using a mono to stereo jack splitter and plug into the left and right input at the same time.
And by mixer I mean the mixer on the Cubase le4 program..

@chetvoxx I'd suggest that your pc can't keep up. Try mixing down some of the instruments maybe Drums and Bass into one stereo track.

Make sure the mic has not been muted in the windows sound mixer setup. Also test the mic separately in an amp.

i have a cubase le4 with a us-122L and im trying to turn the file into a mp3 file.and,well,i dont know how to do that.what could i do to turn it into a mp3 file? if you have any advice for me that is.if not,sry for wasting your time

@SimPotts when i have asio 4all on, i cant hear guitar but get moniter responce,,when i go to session io,i stiil get no sound from guitar and no moniter responce but the ez drummer program i have in it(cubase le 4) will only hear if its in asio 4 all but not in session io, any help would br great.

please help me....this is good,but useless if i dont know how to connect the mic.how do i set up the mic to record.i have the mic plugged into the computer, and i use it for making videos etc.but its not automatically recognised with cubase.how do i make sure cubase is using the mic i set up for the signal.

beginner problem: all vst instruments are in tune to each other, but doesn't fit concert pitch exactly. how can i change the master tuning for all instruments in cubase le 4?

@rhabarberkompott Not sure. Perhaps mix them all down to one wave file and then tweek the pitch of that one file.

@Andy24deth Please check the sound output settings in the device setup menu and also ensure that the sound volume in windows is enabled, not muted and the slider is all the way up.

yeah i make beats with cubase le 4 and i also dj so i want to know if i make a dj mix how can i set the track markers for my dj mix because i know i can export all the tracks i make but i know on some programs u can set the tracks on certain parts of the mix so hope u can help me thx!

@richpickins haven't used resaon, but either export a wave file from reason and import that into cubase then add a vocal, or playback the reason recording and record the audio into cubase thru the sound card and add vocal. If you known how to do it, you could export the midi files from reason and import them into cubase.

@metalowns02 Check distortion level meters are not overloading. They should peak just before they turn red, IE at 0DB.

@SimPotts Where are the distortion meters located at? and i cant get playback also how can i do a cover and be with the song at the same time. Isn't there like a metronome that clicks and you won't record unless you play?

@metalowns02 See video above and at 1.15 there is a red record button. To the right of the red button is a metronome that says click. Also there are are 2 vertical bars that move when you play. These should not become red or else it is distorting. You can import a wave file or MP3 file into cubse from the file menu-click-import -file.

so that remined me of the beatles xD does this have eq and reverb effects and such? my microphone wont work on adobe. its a maudio usb producer mic. will it only work with pro tools?

ok, i need help. badly. i bet ive spent a total of 32 hours on this cubase trying to get it to work... and nothing! whenever i record something the sound waves dont pop up, and when i try to play it back theres no sound. at all! im not sure why its not connecting or something? please help!

if you are new to recording
both are a good choice
but i think MC5 is better, it has really good effects
and it is pretty easy to understand,

how do i record with the electric guitar? is it possible to make a drumming track to play to? ive got the guitar attached to the tascam, then the usb from the tascam to my laptop, and then the rca cables attached from the tascam to the amplifier...i think thats how its supposed to be, ive been pressing the record button but no sound is coming out when i playback...whats wrong?

@whiteboiii92 Plug in the electric guitar lead to the line input of the tascam. Record the guitar direct for best quality. If you want to use th amplifier place a micrphone in front of the speaker about 12 inches away and record the amplified guitar sound.

I ha n electric guitar which plugs into a zoom G2.1u nd it has a usb to the computer how do urecord tht way its still attached the amp to ???. So its basically not using microphones its just directly plugged in

@FURRY1995 Hi Furry. I would plug in the USB cionnection and under device setup in cusbase I am guessing you would see the amp as one of the sound card options. Sleect it as your default soundcard and try recording. Failing that if you have a headphones or line output, connect that to the line/mic input of your PC.

Very helpful, but I have a laptop with windows vista and I'm trying to record with a tascam box and i have cubase set up like yours, i press record, it picks up everything, but I have no audio. It's really frustrating . When i record i get no audio, and when i play it back i get no audio. Any ideas?

@Nightmareee918 Hey Nightmare, nice name. i will setup another video defining the audio card setup. I alsi use the Tascam 122 card. You will need to go into the devices menu and select device setup. Then select ASIo driver to Tascam card. Let me know if this solves it or not.

@Nightmareee918 Not dumb question. Just record the track in Mono and It will play back through both channels. Alternatively just splt the signal input using a mono to stereo jack splitter and plug into the left and right input at the same time.
