@SakuraEvangeline Vocaloids are actually just voice synthesizer software packages, with character names given to particular sets of vocal samples. Generally, everything you see in Vocaloid videos was created by someone who bought the software. That's why there's a lot of variation in art and music styles.
@SakuraEvangeline The Vocaloid synthesizer technology is by Yamaha, and Miku was released by a company called Crypton. Crypton hired a manga artist named Kei to design Miku's character, and Miku's voice is sampled from a voice actress named Saki Fujita.
People are free to use the software any way they want, so there is a huge number of songs online. They often make art or videos too. (The Vocaloid software only makes music though, so you have to use something else for the other stuff.)
@killersandwitch526 If you have the software and you're making original songs, you don't really need to credit anyone. Think of it like Photoshop--you don't need to give credit to Adobe every time you draw something.
@HarryMacDowel oh ok thanx, cuz I hate dealing with copyright crap, I uploaded a sound design project I made using a scene from the Max Payne movie, and FOX blocked it worldwide almost instantly... that said my music is totally original, btw nice response time :D
@HarryMacDowel but you cant make your own vocaloid, only if you buy a patent from yamaha? anyways you ned to buy i guess permission from yamaha in order to make your own vocaloid
@HarryMacDowel so is there no copyright that kind of owns hatsune miku? She has concerts and stuff so I'm assuming there is someone who created her and controls her voice and what songs she sings right?
@ShamgarHD Vocaloids are just synthesizers. There's no way to control what people make with them, and only the creator owns anything he makes. For the concerts, they probably had some sort of agreement with the people who wrote the songs.
That is the most beautiful song i have ever heard, i cried at the end. i feel so moved by this im almost speechless. its the best damn song ever! 100/5 ★

@HarryMacDowel So I can use her as vocals to some of my songs, as long as I give credit to the who?
