I just watched the documentary, "How Obama Got Elected". It was interesting. However, the interviews with John(producer of the film) and the documentary never mentioned those 12 questions were also asked to McCain supporters. I wrote John and asked. But, I am curious is there any video or transcripts of the McCain questions?

Why would the energy prices skyrocket when we get rid of fossil fuels? All recent research shows no significant energy price increase going green. In fact it's more likely to be much cheaper in the future with green energy than fossil fuel since cost and efficiency of wind, solar, wave, geothermal, etc.

You're close, Progressist. You are correct in stating that McCain voters knew about Obama's flaws because they watch Fox and listen to talk radio.
But if you look at the data you'll notice McCain voters scored just as well as Obama voters on McCain and Palin's flaws. McCain voters knew the negatives on both candidates, but Obama voters did not because the left leaning media did not focus as much on Obama's negatives, only McCain and Palin's.

Sure. The questions had varying levels of importance. Obama saying he campaigned in 57 states is less important than what he said about his Cap & Trade policy.
You could come up a list of important policy questions for each side, as could I.
That doesn't mean these questions are unrepresentative of the campaign coverage. If someone depended on the mainstream media for their news, they didn't get a balanced view of the candidates.

In this set of question, the McCain voters were never more than 11 percentage points behind the Obama voters, when it came to flaws with Rep candidates. However, the Obama voters got all the way to 36 percentage points off when it came to the Dem candidates.
Also, the last two questions, where <50% answered correctly show that some issues weren't just partisan ignorance, but stories that never got reported on.
Anyone else notice how all the questions and their questions portrayed Obama in a negative way?
Even if there were less informed voters in that group of (only) 1000 people (and I'm also assuming it was 500 Obama voters and 500 McCain voters since it didn't say if it was balanced or not), that doesn't mean everyone across the country was that ill-informed.

This is not surprising. Obama took the vast majority of the previously undecided vote, with a large proportion of voters who were apathetic and didn't care to know anything about politics before being inspired by his message of change. After being inspired to vote, they still didn't learn much. It's not that Obama voters are uninformed, but most uninformed people voted for Obama.

Everything negative about McCain was well known by dems, and everything bad about Obama was well known with republicans. And as I saw it, there were only 4 questions in the video pertaining to the McCain and 9 to Obama and all of them stayed along party lines..I did find it amusing that the pointless facts were the well known, just an observation

You're close, Progressist. You are correct in stating that McCain voters knew about Obama's flaws because they watch Fox and listen to talk radio.
But if you look at the data you'll notice McCain voters scored just as well as Obama voters on McCain and Palin's flaws. McCain voters knew the negatives on both candidates, but Obama voters did not because the left leaning media did not focus as much on Obama's negatives, only McCain and Palin's.

Sure. The questions had varying levels of importance. Obama saying he campaigned in 57 states is less important than what he said about his Cap & Trade policy.
You could come up a list of important policy questions for each side, as could I.
That doesn't mean these questions are unrepresentative of the campaign coverage. If someone depended on the mainstream media for their news, they didn't get a balanced view of the candidates.

In this set of question, the McCain voters were never more than 11 percentage points behind the Obama voters, when it came to flaws with Rep candidates. However, the Obama voters got all the way to 36 percentage points off when it came to the Dem candidates.
Also, the last two questions, where <50% answered correctly show that some issues weren't just partisan ignorance, but stories that never got reported on.

This is not surprising. Obama took the vast majority of the previously undecided vote, with a large proportion of voters who were apathetic and didn't care to know anything about politics before being inspired by his message of change. After being inspired to vote, they still didn't learn much. It's not that Obama voters are uninformed, but most uninformed people voted for Obama.

EmeraldView... I've made that same point before with others. A woman loses many "fertilized eggs" throughout her lifetime. Am I supposed to grieve over my tampons every month? Geez... maybe I should be able to get time off of work for "mourning" when I'm on my menses.

Indeed. Not only that, you should be sure to name each menses. You don't want them to be nameless in heaven. :-P Well we jest, not that abortion should be taken lightly, but the fundamentalists attribute WAY too much significance to the early stages of a pregnancy (far more than Bible, which doesn't truly mention, nor condemn, abortion. Moses, Jesus, they never spoke of it, and yet it's fundies #1 concern. Well #2 next to gays - also little mentioned & not by Jesus). But poverty? A lot!

As you say... abortion should never be taken lightly, but it SHOULD be a woman's choice... especially in the earliest stages of pregnancy. And I've never understood the "anti-gay" crap, either. Why should I care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms? And you're right... Jesus spoke alot about poverty... and LOVE. Somehow, the "born-againers" always seem to forget how important love is.

Should it be a woman's choice? Well, in that case, shouldn't it be a man's choice too? After all, without the sperm contributed to the woman's egg, the child would never have existed. So, going by your reasoning, the man should be able to decide whether or not the woman has an abortion. And heartbeat starts at what, 18 days? Then it should be legal for the man to kill his child at any stage, prenatal or 25 years old, it doesn't matter? Does that sound like a valid plan to you?

Haha. You sad pathetic jackass. The American people KNEW who was preventing the legislation and change in direction they voted for in 2006 from happening. Republicans who whined CONSTANTLY about Democrats filibustering legislation (at average or below average rates) SHATTERED the record for filibusters in 2007 & 2008. Bush vetoed legislation that did get through, and Republicans stopped overrides of those vetoes. 2010 will be another VERY bad year for Republicans. That party is finished.

I'm actually surprised the Obama supporters scored as high as they did. Whenever I asked Obama supporters specific platform issues (e.g. re proposed tax rates), the answers were vague and pointless ("he stands for change"). Makes me wonder if a democracy of dunces is such a good thing ... theoretically, would we be better served if there was an intelligence prerequisite for the right to vote ...yes, I understand the flip-side of that argument. No need to debate.
