Welcome to the new Obama Army. Government issue will no longer be uniforms, boots, and field gear ... but dresses, panties, and makeup. It used to be that the objective of the U.S. Military was to win wars, but nowadays it's the advancement of liberal political agendas. Some of the best soldiers in miltary history have been men who had sex with men (Alexander the Great, the Sacred Legion of Thebes, etc. etc. etc.). I suggest you look inside your own heart and do some soul-searching for the root of your homophobia and bigotry.

"Homosexuality" refers only to a person's sexual orientation and has nothing at all to do with whether or not an individual is moral or disciplined. Homosexuality only indicates sexual preference; it is not a determinant of behavior, and it has no bearing whatsoever on an individual's discipline or moral compass. According to the Bible, God will not send anyone to hell if they accept Christ as their Savior. By your rationale, anyone who has ever had one to many drinks, has had pre-marital sex, or has stolen a candy bar from the grocery store will be sent to hell.

All DADT does is protect homophobes who serve in the military from having to know their fellow Soldier, Sailor, Marine, etc is gay, in the risk they may feel uncomfortable. The truth is, gays serve and have been serving successfully in combat, in the shared berthing space, and in every other scenario exaggerated by silly people. If gays were such a problem for unit cohesion and mission focus then they would be rotundly not allowed to serve, the same way drug users are.

Don't ask, don't tell isn't only directed at gays, it is a term for everyone, especially in training, no one asks you about your sexuality, no one tells of their sexuality, the focus is not on sex, it is on the mission, the defense of our country, sacrificing your needs as well as some of your rights in theservice of others. If your not willing to make that sacrifice, then don't join, but forcing it to change so your own needs take prority over the mission? I question that line of thinking.

That doesn't really work either, because now the focus that should be on the defense of our country is now side tracked, training that is designed to get focus off of personal needs and onto the needs of society is now flawed as any way you put it, now people are going to be focusing on those they find attractive instead of what they should be. I know this does not apply to everyone, but in a military where lives are lost if someone messes up, do you really want the uncertianty that this brings?

No one takes into account what needs to be done to errect a 'gay friendly' military. Take military dorms, they seperate men and women to keep sexual destractions out of the way, introduce the open gay sexuality, what are you going to do? The logical answer of course is make gay dorms in addition, but in the end all that does is give privilages to gays as they get what pleases them while heteros still remain without opbjects of attraction. The only other answer is group everyone together.

Gays used to be banned from the military. Clinton enacted "dont ask, dont tell" AS A COMPROMISE. Thats DEMOCRACY. You find middle ground on issues for the benefit of all the people.

Personally I believe that Homosexuals should still be banned from the military. But I AM satisfied with "don't ask don't tell" b/c I realize that you can't always have everything your way, UNLIKE radical homosexuals who aren't content with finding middle ground, but want to have everything their way, all the time.

Don't ask don't tell protected SSGT Alva from numerous sexual harrassment complaints. He has proven nothing in the way of his sexual orientation other than the current policy kept him out of the spotlight in regards to his sexual orientation. Why is it we berth men and women in separate quarters? Is the answer not obvious? This isn't "Starship Troopers".  The problem here is that people who haven't served in the military are just plain ignorant about the issues affecting servicemembers.
