@conflictcom Not a bartender, nor do I claim to be. I'm not serving drinks to anyone, I'm making a cocktail and showing people how to make 'em. If I'm serving drinks at a party, of course, hands are washed (sanitizer is used, etc.) And, that's not just for making cocktails but shaking hands and all social activities.

@FormalSocks no, not really, but you can buy them on amazon and probably get them shipped fast. Fee Brothers has a hole set of six different bitters in a package on amazon. Peychauds, Angostura, tons of stuff. Search "bitters" and go crazy wild.

@mrjembob1 1 part water, 1 part sugar, boil it and you're done. It's simply just sugar water; dissolves much easier than sugar as grain.

@mdawg20 yeah, I try to work with as much fresh squeezed fruit as possible for a few reasons, to show that it's not very hard to do it and you get a drink that's 10x better in the end. Plus, with the mixer it's all processed sugars and you usually end up with a ton of left over, I can make my juice a few oz. at a time so I don't have to store a lot of it afterwards.

My sour mix recipe is: 1 oz. lemon, 1 oz. lime, 2 oz. simple syrup :)

just wondering what ratio you use for your simple syrup? i've seen everything from 4 parts sugar to 1 part water, to .5 parts sugar to 1 part water

add a 1/4 oz of vodka to your simple syrup to preserve it longer.....Also an egg white in sour will give you a nice creamy head to sip through

you can also make it with 2 oz whiskey 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar (yes powdered) and the juice from 1/2 a lemon and garnish with a marishino cherry and lemon wheel
